Semarang, October 8, 2026 — Thirty-three students from the Electrical Engineering cluster at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) will participate in the 2026 International Summer Camp hosted by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) from October 10 to 18, 2026. This event serves to strengthen international learning experiences and develop student competencies through academic and cultural interactions within a global higher education environment.

The 2026 International Summer Camp offers students the opportunity to gain learning experiences beyond the campus through various academic activities, personal development, cultural exchange, and interactions with students and academics from diverse backgrounds. Participation by UNNES Electrical Engineering students is expected to broaden their horizons, enhance their competencies, and build international networks that support their readiness to face the challenges of the workforce and technological advancements.

The event also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education. SDG 4 emphasizes the importance of ensuring inclusive, high-quality, and equitable education while expanding lifelong learning opportunities. Through international mobility and learning programs, students gain the chance to develop knowledge, skills, cross-cultural communication abilities, and global perspectives as part of an education relevant to future needs.

For Electrical Engineering students, the learning experience at UTHM also provides an opportunity to view educational and technological developments from an international perspective. Interaction with the academic environment in Malaysia is expected to enrich students’ understanding of advancements in engineering, technological innovation, and the application of knowledge in daily life and industry.

Beyond the academic aspects, the International Summer Camp also serves as a platform for building students’ global competence. Through activities involving participants from diverse backgrounds, students are trained to communicate, collaborate, adapt to new environments, and understand cultural diversity. These competencies are crucial in preparing a young generation capable of contributing to the global community.

The participation of 33 students from the UNNES Electrical Engineering cluster in this event demonstrates a commitment to supporting the internationalization of higher education. The experience gained during the program is expected to extend beyond the participants themselves; they are encouraged to share their knowledge, experiences, and best practices with the wider academic community—and their fellow students—upon the program’s conclusion.

Through the 2026 International Summer Camp, the UNNES Electrical Engineering cluster aims to provide an educational experience that goes beyond mastering academic competencies, seeking instead to mold students who are adaptive, collaborative, and globally minded—ready to face the challenges of the future.

This initiative represents a tangible step toward delivering quality education that expands access to international learning experiences, strengthens inter-university collaboration, and supports the achievement of SDG 4: Quality Education.
