Civil Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, UNNES, had the opportunity to participate in a Public Lecture and Socialization of the Fast Track Undergraduate, Scholarship, and Double Degree Master’s Programs to advance SDG 4 (Quality Education), which aligns with UNNES’s vision of becoming a World-Reputed University.
The event, held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the Prof. Soedhartono meeting room on the 3rd floor of the FT UNNES Dean’s Building, featured speakers Prof. Hsuan-Teh Hu and Yanuar Haryanto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. from National Cheng Kung University. The event was attended by the Dean of FT UNNES, Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T., along with his staff, as well as lecturers and students of Civil Engineering, who enthusiastically participated.
Dean of FT UNNES, Prof. Dr. In his remarks, Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T., stated that students have the opportunity to continue their studies abroad through the socialization of the Fast Track and Double Degree programs. This also provides an opportunity for students who want to gain work experience abroad, given the promising job opportunities offered after graduation. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, UNNES, hopes that this activity will open new perspectives for students and inspire them to be more serious in pursuing their dreams.

In conjunction with the promotion of SDG 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals), the event also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This aims to establish international collaborations in line with UNNES’s vision of becoming a World-Reputed University. The signing ceremony was attended by several relevant parties, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T.; Prof. Hsuan-Teh Hu; Yanuar Haryanto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; and Prof. Dr. Rini Kusumawardani, S.T., M.Sc. M.T., and Endah Kanti Pangestuti, S.T., M.T., with Rusiyanto, S.Pd., M.T. as the Vice Dean for Business, Research, and Cooperation as a witness.

The event continued with a presentation by Prof. Hsuan-Teh Hu, who detailed and comprehensively explained the study at National Cheng Kung University. This was enthusiastically attended by UNNES Civil Engineering students. This was followed by a question-and-answer session with Prof. Hsuan-Teh Hu. Furthermore, at a separate event, Yanuar Haryanto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., presented material related to the Scientific Writing for High-Impact Publications Training “Strategies for Successful Academic Papers.” It is hoped that after the event, students will be able to apply this knowledge to their final studies.
In addition to SDG 4 and SDG 17, this activity also falls under SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) considering that the output of this activity is that students gain experience in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Prof. Hsuan-Teh Hu has explained in detail how SDG 9 in Taiwan is developing rapidly, this is the first step to create creative and innovative works for students.
