In 2026, the PKK Cluster Work Showcase of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNNES carried the theme “Nusantara Cosmic Odyssey,” a harmony between the uniqueness of the Indonesian archipelago and the magic of outer space, beautifully and innovatively packaged by PKK Cluster students to advance SDGs 4 and 9, as well as Impactful Innovation.
The event, held on May 13, 2026, at the Prof. Wuryanto Auditorium, UNNES, was a lively affair, attended by all leaders of the UNNES Faculty of Engineering and their staff, invited guests from government agencies, PKK Cluster lecturers and students, and parents of students who were in attendance to view the extraordinary work.
Vice Dean I of the UNNES Faculty of Engineering, Dr.-Ing. Dhidik Prastiyanto, S.T., M.T., emphasized that this activity is a form of developing Nusantara heritage products through student innovation.
“We are developing Indonesian heritage products into innovative works and providing a platform for students to channel their ideas. This will allow them to collaborate with relevant agencies and the industrial sector for broader product development,” he emphasized.
According to him, the exhibition is not only an exhibition of learning outcomes but also a means to strengthen collaboration between the campus and various external parties.
Meanwhile, Event Chair Elfanditya Farussaifani explained that the event featured hundreds of works from four study programs within the Family Welfare (PKK) cluster.
“This creative event from the four PKK study programs showcased 367 works, consisting of 19 craft works, 20 food and beverage processing works, 39 makeup works, 83 fashion works, and 103 food and beverage works from the culinary arts,” she explained.
The various works on display demonstrated students’ creativity in developing products based on culture, skills, and innovation in their respective fields. Everything from fashion design and creative makeup to culinary creations, to craft products, captured the attention of attendees.
The “Gerakan Karya” (Work Degree), a compulsory course for students, is a strategy to support SDG 4 (Quality Education), as the “Gerakan Karya” course can be recognized as a student’s thesis. Their innovative work also contributes to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
