Wednesday (10/5/2023) The Marine Innovation Festival Indonesia (MARINESIA) 2023 competition was held again. This time, the contest has the theme Supporting of Synergy Maritime Sector For Golden Indonesia 2045”.

The Marine Innovation Festival Indonesia (MARINESIA) competition is a forum for developing talent in the field of shipping, especially ship design and performance, encouraging the nation’s younger generation, especially students, to play a role in thinking about the independence of Indonesia’s maritime defense and security as well as innovation for the design of fishing vessels in Indonesia.

The Indonesian Marine Innovation Festival (MARINESIA) competition was organized by the Department of Naval Architecture at Hasanuddin University, Makassar. This contest is one of the important agendas of student activities.

A delegation from the Department of Mechanical Engineering FT UNNES named SENOPATI TIM also took part in this activity. With 2 SENOPATI Ship Teams who entered as BISEANG Finalists (Fishing Ship Design Innovation Competition, Senopati Team 1 namely Rafif Dimas Pratama (Student of Mechanical Engineering Study Program), Fiqri Fadillah Fahmi (Student of Automotive Engineering Education Study Program), and Indra Nurul Hidayat (Student of Engineering Study Program) Machinery), Senopati Team 2 namely Muhammad Hafiz Izuddin (Mechanical Engineering Study Program Student), Lanang Puspa Buana (Mechanical Engineering Study Program Student), and Muhammad Harits (Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program Student), and 2 LONTARA Teams (Ciptotype Invasion Competition for Appropriate Technology ), the ENJOYNEERING team namely Muhammad Yusuf Wibowo (Student of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program), Yazid Surya Wicaksana (Student of Mechanical Engineering Study Program), and Hanan Yazid Fadlu Rokhman (Student of Mechanical Engineering Study Program), for MARI TEAM namely Muhammad Nur Faizin (Student of Engineering Education Study Program Automotive), and Tegar Oki Prasdika (Student of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program) With the provision of 1st place in the BISEANG Team and 2nd place in the LONTARA competition in 2022, hopefully this year the whole team can get a gold medal (1st place) in all categories.

Dr. Eng. Aldias Bahatmaka as a Supervisor from the Department of Mechanical Engineering FT UNNES said that the Senopati Team had prepared for about 2-3 months starting from material, design, and also a practice race on the UNNES lake to complete the mission in the competition.
The innovation that is featured in this year’s fishing vessel design is the Purse Seine Ship Innovation Based on Refrigerant System on the Hold and Adjustable Lighting System with the Photovoltaic Method to Realize Solutive Marine Fisheries as well as the fish hold cooling system with Refrigerated Sea Water which is equipped with an isolation vacuum to maintain temperature in the hold to remain stable, so that the quality of the fish from the fishing process to the hands of consumers is maintained. The hold system with Refrigerated Sea Water uses seawater desalination so that the cooling water does not affect the taste of the fish and uses electric power to control the temperature, Meanwhile the vacuum in the hold aims to prevent heat transfer, Said Rafif Dimas Pratama Mechanical Engineering Student FT UNNES as Chair of Senopati Team.

Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T. as Deputy Dean 3 for Student Affairs FT UNNES said that this activity received support from the Faculty of Engineering UNNES because it received research support from grants from the Faculty for Student Organization Research.

Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM. As Deputy Chancellor for Cooperation, Business and International Relations who is also Acting Dean of FT UNNES hopes that this kind of activity needs to be increased to increase student achievement and make UNNES proud at the national level and encourage efforts at the international level. Hopefully the Senopati UNNES Team can succeed in defending the championship by bringing a gold medal in 2023.
