Universitas Negeri Semarang/Faculty of Education and Psychology/Berita/Having received funding for the 2026 PKM program, the SUARA KITA UNNES PKM-PM Team strengthens adolescent emotional regulation.

Semarang – A team of students from the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) through the Student Creativity Program for Community Service (PKM-PM) scheme has successfully passed the 2026 PKM funding. Carrying the title “OUR VOICE: Strengthening Emotional Regulation and Adaptive Social Relations through the Stop-Reflection-Response Strategy for Adolescents at PSAA Al-Hidayah Semarang”, this activity targets groups of adolescents living at PSAA Al-Hidayah as partners.

SUARA KUTA stems from the partners’ need to recognize and manage emotions and build healthier social relationships. The team then developed the SRR (Stop-Reflect-Response) strategy, which encourages participants to pause when faced with an emotional situation, understand their feelings, and then choose a more appropriate response.

The strategy is implemented through two series of activities: Suara Nadi (Near Voice) and Suara Selaras (Harmonious Voice). Suara Nadi includes a Body Map, grounding , Five-Finger Breathing, and the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) to help participants recognize emotional signals and calm themselves. Meanwhile, Suara Selaras uses the Feeling Net, Trusting Train , and the SUARAS OUR VOICE symbol to practice self-expression, trust, communication, and collaboration.

The orphanage administrators and caregivers were involved as collaborators in implementing the activities and supporting the implementation of SRR after the main series was completed. The team also encouraged the role of peer tutors so that the benefits gained could be passed on to other youth.

OUR VOICE is implemented by Mirza Hurin Alifah as the co-chair with Aura Regita Violin, Sofia Paradipta Rizki Setyawan, Rizdhika Putra, and Devi Yofiana Putri, with Yogi Swaraswati, S.Psi., M.Si. as the accompanying lecturer.

This activity supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by strengthening emotional regulation, and SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning of emotional and social skills. SUARA KITA also aligns with the 2026 PKM theme “Strengthening Gender Equality and Protecting the Rights of Women, Children, and Persons with Disabilities,” particularly in supporting the growth and psychosocial needs of adolescents.

Through PKM 2026 funding, the SUARA KITA program is expected to provide partners with the tools to respond to emotional situations more reflectively and build more positive social relationships.
