Semarang — The Implementation Team of the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) SGL PGSD Semarang State University (UNNES) held a peak event entitled “Podo Gelar Ngrembaka” at the Podorejo Village Hall, Ngaliyan District, Semarang City, Saturday (29/8/2026). The activity, which was attended by more than 300 residents of Podorejo Village, was the culmination of a series of meetings that had been held in stages at each Literacy Corner in the Ngrembaka Aksara Program, as well as serving as a workshop and a space for appreciation for the learning outcomes, creativity, and community empowerment during the program.
Podo Gelar Ngrembaka presents four fostered Literacy Corners, namely the Tunas Ngrembaka Literacy Corner, Karya Ngrembaka, Cakra Ngrembaka, and Kersa Ngrembaka. These four literacy corners have different targets and activities according to the characteristics of each participant. Through Podo Gelar Ngrembaka, the results of a series of meetings that have been held at each literacy corner are then brought together in a joint activity attended by hundreds of community members, participants, students, partners, and elements of the Podorejo Village Government and UNNES.
As part of the workshop, the event featured special booths from each Literacy Corner. Each booth displayed various works and products created by participants during the series of activities. The Tunas Ngrembaka booth displayed the works and creative activities of children participants, while Karya Ngrembaka displayed the creativity and work of teenagers participants. Cakra Ngrembaka displayed works and products related to skills development and edupreneurship for productive-age people, while Kersa Ngrembaka displayed the activities and creativity of elderly participants. Thus, each booth represented the learning process and experiences that participants had gone through in each Literacy Corner.
The event began with a fun walk with the community. The semi-formal opening ceremony included the singing of Indonesia Raya, followed by a dance performance by participants from the Tunas Ngrembaka Literacy Corner and the Karya Ngrembaka Literacy Corner. The performances served as a token of appreciation for the participants’ creativity, which had been developed through a series of meetings at each literacy corner.
A series of remarks were delivered by the Head of the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Implementation Team, the Deans of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) UNNES, the Head of Ngaliyan District, and the Head of Podorejo Village.
This activity was also attended by the Dean of FIPP UNNES Prof. Dr. Edy Purwanto, M.Si., Deputy Dean I of FIPP Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., Deputy Dean II of FIPP Kusnarto Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Kons., Coordinator of PGSD Study Program Drs. Sigit Yulianto, M.Pd., Head of Podorejo Village Yusdi Dwiyantoro, SH, PIC PPK Ormawa UNNES Teguh Hardi Raharjo, M.Pd., PIC PPK Ormawa FIPP UNNES Wantoro, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ormawa Supervisor Lecturer Dr. Ipin Aripin, S.Pd.I., M.Pd., and Supervising Lecturer of PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Nur Indah Wahyuni, S.Pd., M.Pd.
One of the main agendas of Podo Gelar Ngrembaka is the graduation ceremony for participants from the four Literacy Corners: Tunas Ngrembaka, Karya Ngrembaka, Cakra Ngrembaka, and Kersa Ngrembaka. This ceremony serves as a token of appreciation for the participants’ active participation in the series of meetings and learning activities held throughout the program.
In addition to graduation, the event also included the inauguration of institutional cadres for the sustainability of the Ngrembaka Aksara Program. These institutions consist of Jagad Aksara Cadres as the institution that oversees the four Literacy Corners, as well as cadres from Aruna Aksara, Ananta Aksara, Amerta Aksara, and Abiyaksa Aksara who play a role in supporting the sustainability of activities in each literacy corner. The cadres are expected to be the driving force who continue, manage, and develop literacy and community empowerment activities after the series of student mentoring ends. Based on the Decree of the Head of Podorejo, the term of office of the sustainability cadres is valid for one year, starting from August 29, 2026, to August 29, 2027.
The series of activities then continued with the inauguration of the Ngrembaka Aksara Reading Corner, a literacy facility that can be used sustainably by residents of Podorejo Village. Following the inauguration, the public and invited guests were able to visit the workshop booths set up by each Literacy Corner.
During the workshop, each booth served as a showcase for participants’ work. Visitors could directly view the work, products, activity documentation, and various achievements made during the Literacy Corner series of meetings. The presence of booths from the four literacy corners also provided an opportunity for participants to explain their work-making process and their experiences during the activities.
The exhibition of the artworks is a crucial part of Podo Gelar Ngrembaka, as it not only showcases the final results but also demonstrates the ongoing learning process with the community. The works displayed demonstrate the participants’ involvement and demonstrate their appreciation for the creativity and potential of the Podorejo Village community.
The Head of the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Implementation Team, Farid Fikri Khoirul Rasyid, said that Podo Gelar Ngrembaka was a momentum to see the results and celebrate the process that had been gone through with the community.
“We came to Podorejo as students with a program, but we returned with many lessons from the community. For us, the success of the PPK Ormawa program isn’t just when the program is completed, but when the community is able to continue and develop what has been started together. We hope the spirit of literacy, creativity, and empowerment that has developed through the four Literacy Corners can continue and benefit the Podorejo community,” he said.
The chairman of RW 11, Anas Setiawan, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the implementation of the Ngrembaka Aksara Program series in his area.
“We, the residents of Podorejo, are very grateful and thankful to the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Team for their support through the Ngrembaka Aksara Program. We have experienced many benefits, from children and teenagers to the elderly in our area. We hope that with this sustainability cadre, the spirit of literacy that has been built can continue and grow within the community,” he said.
The Dean of FIPP UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Purwanto, M.Si., in his remarks appreciated the achievements of the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Team in carrying out a series of community empowerment activities in Podorejo Village.
“I highly appreciate the hard work of the UNNES Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) PPK Ormawa Team students who have presented a comprehensive community empowerment program, from children to the elderly. The Ngrembaka Aksara program is clear evidence that students are capable of making a meaningful contribution to society. Today’s activities also showcase the various results of the process carried out with the community through each literacy corner,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Podorejo Village, Yusdi Dwiyantoro, SH, expressed his appreciation for the series of activities carried out by the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Team together with the community.
“On behalf of the Podorejo Village Government, we would like to thank the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Team for assisting our residents through the Ngrembaka Aksara Program. Today’s activity provides an opportunity to review the various results and achievements of the meetings held with the community. With the inauguration of these institutional cadres, we hope that the activities that have been pioneered can continue and be developed independently by the residents. The Podorejo Village Government is ready to support the sustainability of this program going forward,” he said.
In addition to the exhibition of artworks, Podo Gelar Ngrembaka also featured door prizes and live music. The entire series of activities provided a meeting place for more than 300 community members, participants, students, partners, and various program supporters to observe and appreciate the results of the collaborative process.
The Ngrembaka Reading Corner culminated in a series of workshops and meetings held by four Literacy Corners within the Ngrembaka Aksara Program. Through participant performances, graduation ceremonies, the inauguration of institutional cadres, the inauguration of the Ngrembaka Aksara Reading Corner, and exhibitions of artwork at each Literacy Corner stand, this event showcased the learning process and outcomes that have developed within the Podorejo Village community.
Through this activity, the PPK Ormawa SGL PGSD UNNES Team hopes that the various knowledge, skills, works, and literacy spirit that have been developed during the series of activities can continue to grow, be utilized, and be developed by the Podorejo Village community in a sustainable manner.
