UNNES PSYCHOLOGY — Students from the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) at Semarang State University (UNNES) have once again achieved a proud achievement at the national level. A cross-study student team won a Silver Medal in the Life Science category at the 2025 National Youth Invention and Innovation Award (NYIA).

This competition was held in Surabaya on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Although the event was centered in Surabaya, the teams chose to participate in the presentation phase online via Zoom Meeting. Students from various universities across Indonesia participated in this event, showcasing a variety of innovations and research findings in various fields.
The award-winning team consisted of Gabryel Sekar Arum Sakti (Psychology), Nadiva Syarafina Nur Aini Munandar (Psychology), Alan Kila Leonava Nabila (Civic Education), Maria Putri Charity (Psychology), and Hanori (Guidance and Counseling). In this competition, they developed an innovative version of the Snakes and Ladders game, modified into an educational and interactive group counseling tool.
The team’s motivation for participating in this competition stemmed from a desire to gain shared experience and hone their teamwork skills. Furthermore, they wanted to improve their teamwork and develop creative ideas, particularly in transforming the Snakes and Ladders game into a beneficial group counseling platform for the community.
This success is inseparable from the team’s extensive preparation, including intensive consultations with their supervisors, maintaining consistent collaboration among members, thorough preparation, and demonstrating total commitment in every stage of the competition.
One team member, Gabryel Sekar Arum Sakti, expressed his gratitude and happiness for this achievement. “Throughout this competition, we experienced invaluable experiences. There was both excitement and a little tension during the presentation. We were also very enthusiastic when conducting group counseling as part of our product effectiveness research. This experience enriched us both professionally and personally,” said Gabryel.
This achievement is expected to inspire UNNES students to continue innovating, collaborating, and developing work that benefits society. Furthermore, this achievement demonstrates the commitment of UNNES FIPP students to present innovations relevant to the needs of education and psychological services in Indonesia.
