FIPP UNNES Commemorates Kartini Day 2025, Strengthens the Spirit of Equality and Women’s Empowerment
Semarang, April 21, 2025 — The Dean and academic community of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) Semarang State University (UNNES) commemorated Kartini Day on Monday, April 21, 2025. This commemoration is a momentum to remember RA Kartini’s struggle in fighting for women’s rights, especially in obtaining educational opportunities and playing an active role in community life.

The commemoration of Kartini Day at FIPP UNNES was marked by the togetherness of the academic community consisting of leaders, lecturers, and educational staff. Through this momentum, the FIPP UNNES family showed appreciation for the values of Kartini’s struggle that are relevant to today’s educational life, especially the spirit of learning, independence, and equal opportunities for women.
Kartini’s spirit is closely related to the world of education. Education is an important means to open opportunities for women to develop their potential, increase their capacity, and contribute in various areas of life. As a higher education institution, FIPP UNNES has a role in building an academic environment that respects diversity, supports the development of individual potential, and provides equal opportunities for all academics.

This activity supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5: Gender Equality, which encourages the elimination of discrimination against women and the strengthening of equal opportunities in various aspects of life. The commemoration of Kartini Day also serves as a reminder that gender equality needs to be realized through access to education, participation, and opportunities to develop and contribute fairly.
Through the commemoration of Kartini Day 2025, FIPP UNNES hopes that Kartini’s fighting spirit will continue to inspire the academic community to strengthen the values of equality, respect the role of women, and create an inclusive educational environment. This spirit is expected not to stop at ceremonial commemorations, but to become part of a shared commitment to supporting women’s empowerment and the advancement of Indonesian education.
