Psychology UNNES – The Psychology Study Program of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) hosted an institutional visit from the Faculty of Education Sciences of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. This visit took the form of a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), focusing on the management of psychology journals as an effort to strengthen scientific publication management and foster closer relations between institutions.
The delegation from UPI included experienced psychology lecturers, such as Dr. Sri Maslihah, M.Psi.,
Psychologist; Ifa Hanifah Misbach, M.A., Psychologist; Sitti Chotidjah, M.A., Psychologist; Diah Zaleha Wyandini, M.Si.; Gemala Nurendah, M.A.; Farhan Zakariyya, M.Psi., Psychologist; and Mia Artini, S.Pd. Their presence aimed to exchange ideas, experiences, and strategies related to managing high-quality and reputable psychology journals.
The FGD covered various important aspects of journal management, including enhancing article quality, peer review management, journal indexing, and steps toward national and international journal accreditation. The discussion also highlighted challenges and opportunities in publishing research findings relevant to developments in psychology in Indonesia, in fields such as clinical psychology, education, and industry.
The Head of the Psychology Study Program of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at UNNES welcomed this activity as a strategic step in improving the quality of scientific publications. Through synergy between UNNES and UPI, it is hoped that the management of psychology journals at both institutions will become more professional and contribute to the dissemination of psychology knowledge that benefits society.
It is expected that this collaboration will lead to the production of high-quality psychology journals, supporting the development of knowledge and the practice of psychology in Indonesia.
