Wawasan Luas, Syarat Penting Masuki Dunia Kerja

Banyak sarjana yang gagal ketika melewati seleksi surat lamaran dan wawancara. Itu lantaran surat lamaran dipercaya mencerminkan watak dan dedikasi seseorang. Maka, para sarjana harus mampu menyiapkan lamaran dengan baik. Adapun untuk menghadapi wawancara, wawasan yang luas mutlak diperlukan.

Demikian dosen Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Katolik (Unika) Soegijapranata Semarang, Lucia Trisni MSi, mengungkapkan dalam pembekalan calon wisudawan Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), di Ruang Gedung Serba Guna Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Unnes Kampus Sekaran Gunungpati, Kamis (5/6).

Lucia mengatakan, kunci bagi sarjana untuk berhasil menembus peluang kerja adalah memahami Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang diinginkan oleh perusahaan. Pencari kerja ibarat barang, sedangkan perusahaan adalah konsumen, “ perusahaan mencari barang yang berkualitas, yakni tenaga kerja yang sehat, berwawasan luas, profesional, bermotivasi tinggi, dan mampu menyesuaikan etika kerja,” katanya.

Setiap perusahaan, menurut Lucia dalam melakukan perekrutan selalu menekankan pada orang yang sudah memiliki sikap kreatif, fleksibel, memiliki berbagai keahlian, bisa bekerja sama.

“Selain itu, mereka juga mencari orang yang mempunyai keyakinan, memahami bisnis, berorientasi pada kualitas serta berorientasi pada pelanggan,” kata dosen yang juga praktisi ini.

Acara yang dihadiri ratusan calon wisudawan unnes ini, menurut Kepala Pusat Pengembangan Layanan Konseling dan Bursa Kerja (Pusbang LK BK) Unnes Sinta Saraswati MPd Kons bertujuan untuk membekali para lulusan Unnes dalam berkompetitif memasuki dunia kerja.

Ada fenomena bahwa Indeks Prestasi komulatif (IPK) diatas 3.50 sering gagap saat masuk lapangan kerja sehingga perlu penyesuaian diri lebih baik agar tidak gagal. Mahasiswa cenderung asyik dengan dunia mahasiswa sehingga kurang mempersiapkan diri ketika lulus untuk mencari pekerjaan.

“Masa krisis mahasiswa memang pada waktu transisi yakni masa lulus dengan masa memasuki dunia kerja. Perkembangan-perkembangan informasi dari berbagai sumber seringkali menyebabkan para lulusan gagap informasi tentang dunia kerja. Gagap informasi ini adalah awal kekalahan dalam berkompetisi dalam dunia keja,” kata Sinta yang juga dosen Psikologi Unnes ini.

Sinta juga berharap agar kegiatan ini jangan hanya diselenggarakan oleh Pusbang LK BK saja tapi diselenggarakan di setiap fakultas di lingkungan Unnes,” hal ini agar sesuai dengan karakteristik di setiap fakultas,” harapnya.
