Kenang Jasa Prof Satmoko, UNNES Selenggarakan Silaturahmi Founding Fathers

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan silaturahmi Founding Fathers pada Selasa (10/5) bertempat di Ruang Borobudur Gedung Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko LP2M UNNES.

Tutur hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut jajaran pimpinan di lingkungan Universitas Negeri Semarang.

Ketua panitia kegiatan Dr Moh Solehatul Mustofa MA melaporkan, penyelenggaraan silaturahmi Founding Fathers merupakan bagian dari serangkaian kegiatan peringatan Dies Natalis ke-57 UNNES.

“Kegiatan ini diinisiasi oleh Pak Rektor, karena bagi UNNES, Prof Satmoko telah banyak berjasa bagi perkembangan UNNES dan yang hadir disini Bapak/Ibu Dekan, Wakil Dekan, dan lain sebagainya hampir kesemuanya merupakan murid dari Prof Satmoko,” ungkap Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial itu.

Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum menyambut baik penyelenggaraan kegiatan silaturahmi Founding Fathers sebagai bagian dari upaya mengenang jasa pahlawan.

“Prof Satmoko dan Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko telah banyak berjasa bagi UNNES. Prof Satmoko memiliki komitmen kuat dalam pengembangan pendidikan di UNNES, sementara Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko memiliki peran besar dalam pengembangan penelitian dan pengabdian di UNNES,” ungkap Prof Fathur.

Prof Satmoko dan Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko, imbuhnya, telah menjadi inspirasi dari seorang tokoh yang cinta dan bangga pada lembaganya.

Putera dari Prof Satmoko dan Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko, Dr dr Sutopo Patria Jati MM MKes yang hadir dalam kegiatan, menyampaikan rasa terima kasih atas perhatian UNNES terhadap kedua orang tuanya.

“Bapak dan Ibu selalu mengajarkan makna kesederhanaan dalam tiap kesempatan. Keduanya selalu berpesan untuk tidak menjadi pribadi yang sombong,” ungkap Dr Sutopo.

Prof Satmoko dan Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko merupakan Guru Besar pendahulu UNNES yang telah membangun tradisi keilmuan di kampus IKIP Semarang yang saat ini dikenal dengan nama kampus UNNES.

Prof Satmoko dikenal memiliki pandangan filosofis yang tegas tentang humanisme dan nasionalisme yang mengutamakan pendekatan nilai dalam setiap gerak pengabdiannya. Baginya mendidik guru adalah membangun karakter bangsa Indonesia yang kokoh dan berdikari.

Keteladanan telah menjadi bagian dari prinsip hidupnya. Prof Satmoko mengilhami Istri nya Prof Dr Retno Sriningsih Satmoko dan 10 anaknya untuk hidup dalam kesederhanaan dan turut dalam mengembangkan nilai-nilai hidup normatif berdasarkan ajaran agama.

Jasanya akan terus terkenang, ilmunya akan terus berkembang. Kini, nama Prof Satmoko diabadikan sebagai nama Gedung Lembaga Pengembangan Pendidikan dan Profesi (LP3) UNNES. Sementara, nama isterinya, Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko diabadikan sebagai nama Gedung Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) UNNES.

Prof Satmoko dan Prof Retno Sriningsih Satmoko kini telah tiada, namun semangat dan idealismenya terwaris kepada putra putri, cucu, dan murid-muridnya. Kepeduliannya terhadap dunia pendidikan terus berkobar dan tak akan pernah padam.
