USAID Gandeng Unnes sebagai Mitra Program Prioritas

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) menggandeng Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) sebagai mitra dalam program Prioritizing Reform Innovation and Opportunities for Reaching Indonesia’s Teachers, Administrators and Students (Prioritas).

Program ini merupakan program lima tahun yang dikembangkan USAID dan Pemerintah Indonesia untuk meningkatkan akses pendidikan dasar berkualitas.

Kegiatan diawali dengan penyerahan Kerangka Acuan Kerjasama oleh Direktur USAID Prioritas Stuart Westen kepada Prof Fathur Rokhman Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerjasama Unnes.

“Program USAID Prioritas ini merupakan lanjutan dari program Decentralized Basic Education (DBE) dengan Unnes guna meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di setiap provinsi mitra,” kata Stuart Westen selaku Direktur USAID Prioritas saat memberi sosialisasi program USAID Prioritas, Rabu (13/2) di rektorat kampus Sekaran.

Secara nasional USAID memiliki 10 provinsi mitra, yaitu Aceh, Sumatera Utara, Banten, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Sulawesi Selatan, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur dan Papua.

Khusus di Jawa Tengah, ada delapan kabupaten yang telah menjadi mitra program DBE. Sedangkan yang menjadi mitra program USAID Prioritas ada lima kabupaten yaitu Kabupaten Batang, Kabupaten Semarang, Kabupaten Sragen, Kabupaten Banjarnegara, dan Kabupaten Purbalingga.

Hadir juga Rodd Alastair (Wakil USAID Amerika), Nurkolis (Koordianator Provinsi Jawa Tengah), Ajar Budi Kuncoro (Spesialis Bidang Pengembangan LPTK), Hari Riyadi (Spesialis Manajemen dan Pemerintahan), dan Anang ( Spesialis Komunikasi). Kegiatan diikuti puluhan orang dari unsur dekan, kepala biro, dan ketua program studi.

Program ini fokus pada peningkatan pembelajaran di SD/MI, SMP dan MTs menjadi lebih menarik, relevan dan efektif dengan penekanan kepada membaca, matematika dan sains, manajemen sekolah menjadi partisipatif, akuntabel dan terfokus pada peningkatan pembelajaran.

Selain itu, manajemen pendidikan di daerah, khusus dalam hal pengelolaan guru dan pembiayaan pendidikan, pendidikan guru prajabatan dan dalam jabatan di LPTK melalui program yang menekankan praktik.

Prof Fathur Rokhman Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerjasama (PR IV) saat menerima rombongan menyampaikan, kerjasama ini dapat dijadikan sebagai wahana dalam pengembangan pembelajaran di sekolah dan wujud nyata pengabdian Unnes di sekolah-sekolah mitra.
