UPT Konservasi UNNES Siap Kelola Limbah Tanamam Menjadi Produk Bernilai Ekonomi

UPT Pengembangan Konservasi Universitas Negeri Semarang berkolaborasi dengan Tim Solusi Limbah Kampus UI GreenMetric menyelenggarakan lokakarya pengolahan limbah sampah menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi secara Daring, Sabtu, 20/3.

Kepala UPT Konservasi Prof Amin Retnoningsih menyampaikna kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu dari rangkaian kegiatan untuk memperingati Dies Natalis UNNES ke-56 dengab melibatkan 925 peserta dari 21 Perguruan tinggi, 15 sekolah, UMKM, dinas dan Lembaga lainnya.

“Peserta dari  perguruan tingggi yang hadir berasal dari UNNES, UT Semarang, UPGRIS, Universitas Negeri Padang, Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Muria Kudus, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Universitas Jambi, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta, Universitas Abulyatama, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati, Telkom University, Universitas Syiah Kuala, STIE Persada Bunda Pekanbaru, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, IAIN Salatiga, Universitas Iskandarmuda, dan IAIN Surakarta. 15 Sekolah meliputi yang mengirimkan perwakilannya yaitu TK Pertiwi Karangbale, SMPN 9 Semarang, SMPN 9 Palangkaraya, SMPN 3 Songgom, SMPN 9 Tegal, SMPN 10 Salatiga, SMKN Bali Mandara, SMK PIUS X Magelang, SMA Teuku Umar Semarang, SMN 1 Tandun, SLB Negeri Semarang, SLBN 1 Buleleng, SDN Sidomulyo 1 Salaman, MAN 1 Grobogan, MI Muhammadiyah Muntilan. Peserta lain terdiri atas 7 institusi yang meliputi: UPKP DLH Ajibarang, UMKM Lonleafcraft, PT. Bukit Barisan Indah Prima, PKBM Gandhi Sena Songgom, Persatuan Istri Insinyur Indonesia Jateng, Perkebunan Sawit BBIP Group, DLHK Prov. Jateng,” jelas Prof Amin Retnoningsih.

Kegiatan dibuka oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Perencanaan dan Kerjasama UNNES, Dr Hendi Pratama MA. Selain Kepala UPT Pengembangan Konservasi UNNES Prof Amin Retnoningsih, turut memberi sambutan Ketua UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, Prof Riri Fitri Sari.

Lokakarya diisi oleh 3 narasumber yaitu Dr Rina Djunita Pasaribu selaku Wakil Rektor 2 Telkom University sekaligus ketua tim solusi limbah kampus UI GreenMetric, Prof Amin Retnoningsih, dan Dra Widowati MPd.

Dr Rina menyampaikan materi tentang implementasi pengelolaan limbah yang dilakukan oleh Telkom University yang diberi nama I-Want (Integrated Waste Management System). I-Want ini menerapkan sistem sirkulasi lup tertutup dalam pengelolaan limbah. Limbah/sampah dikumpulkan oleh mahasiswa, dosen, staf, dan petugas kebersihan Tel-U kemudian diangkut, dipilah dan diproses, dan dibuat agar sampah tersebut mempunyai nilai tambah yang dapat dijual dan dimanfaatkan kembali misalnya diolah menjadi kompos, batako, kerajinan plastic, dll yang dapat dimonetisasi untuk kemudian hasilnya dapat dimanfaatkan kembali oleh mahasiswa, dosen, staf, dan petugas kebersihan Tel-U.

Narasumber kedua dan ketiga Prof. Amin dan Dra. Widowati menyampaikan materi tentang pengalaman beliau dalam mengolah limbah tanaman untuk dibuat menjadi berbagai kerajinan tangan seperti lukisan dari tulang daun. Prof Amin, dan IBu Widowati serta timnya (Rasendriya) telah mempunyai hak cipta untuk lukisan tulang daun. Selain lukisan tulang daun, limbah tanaman juga dimanfaatkan menjadi rangkaian bunga, gantungan kunci, pembatas buku, bros, dan berbagai aksesoris.

Setelah paparan dari Prof Amin dan Dra Widowati, ditampilkan video contoh pembuatan berbagai kerajinan tangan di atas untuk memberikan gambaran yang lebih jelas kepada para peserta.
