UNNES Tuan Rumah Turnamen Tenis Antaralumni Perguruan Tinggi se-Indonesia

Turnamen tenis antaralumni perguruan tinggi se-Indonesia dibuka oleh Ketua Umum Persatuan Tenis Indonesia Prof. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, Sabtu (17/6). Dalam turnamen yang diselenggarakan untuk ke-13 kalinya ini, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menjadi tuan rumah. 

Perwakilan ikatan alumni dari 16 perguruan tinggi di Indonesia berpartisipasi dalam turnamen ini, yaitu Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Negeri Padang, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Tarumanegara, Universitas Islam Indonesia, IPB University, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Tri Sakti, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Jambi, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Andalas, dan Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November Surabaya.

Ketua Panitia Turnamen Tenis Dr Wirawan Sumbodo menjelaskan bahwa turnamen diikuti oleh 16 tim ikatan alumni perguruan tinggi dari seluruh Indonesia.  “Setiap tim mengikutsertakan 20 atlet didampingi 3 offical. Jadi secara keseluruhan turnamen ini diikuti oleh 368 atlet dan official,” katanya. 

Sebelum turnamen dimulai, para peserta telah mengikuti gala dinner dan keakraban di Gedung Moch Ihsan, Komplek Balaikota Semarang. 

Sementara itu, Ketua DPP IKA UNNES Dr. Budiyanto mengaku bangga atas kepercayaaan yang diberikan kepada IKA UNNES karena menjadi tuan rumah turnamen kali ini. 

“Atas nama seluruh alumni UNNES kami mengucapkan terima kasih atas kepercayaan dari kawan-kawan alumni perguruan tinggi se-Indonesia yang telah memberikan kepercayaan kepada kami untuk menjadi penyelenggara turnamen tenis yang ke-13 tahun 2023,” kata Dr Budiyanto.

Bagi Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), turnamen ini memiliki makna strategis dalam upaya memperkuat ikatan silaturahmi antar alumni perguruan tinggi dari berbagai penjuru daerah di Tanah Air. 

“Ikatan silaturahmi itu menjadi penyangga dan penguat ikatan persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa, keragaman yang memperkokoh menjadi kekuatan Indonesia selama ini akan semakin kokoh Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI)” kata Rektor UNNES Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si.

Pada penyelenggaraan tahun sebelumnya, IKA Undip berhasil menjadi juara umum.
