Unnes Tingkatkan Kualitas Guru Sekolah Menengah

Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) bersama Direktorat Pembinaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan menengah Kemdikbud bersepakat menjalin kerja sama dalam bidang peningkatan kompetensi pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan. Kesepakatan itu ditandai melalui penandatanganan MoU, Sabtu (31/3), di rektorat kampus Sekaran.

Adapun ruang lingkup kerja sama itu meliputi peningkatan peran perguruan tinggi melalui tridarma perguruan tinggi, peningkatan kualifikasi pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan Dikmen Pendidikan Menengah, peningkatan kompetensi pendidik, dan peningkatan bantuan atau subsidi pendidikan. Selain itu juga peningkatan, pengembangan, dan implementasi program, dan publikasi karya ilmiah pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan Dikmen Pendidikan Menengah.

Direktur Pembinaan Pendidik dan Tenaga kependidikan Surya Dharma, Ph.D mengungkapkan, kerja sama ini sebenarnya telah terjalin sejak lama. “Kesepahaman ini berlanjut dengan peningkatan kualitas tenaga pendidik sekolah menengah, khususnya bagi guru yang mengampu mata pelajaran ujian nasional (UN),” ujarnya.

Dia juga mengatakan, tanpa Lembaga Perguruan Tinggi Kependidikan, mustahil semua program yang direncanakan Direktorat ini dapat tercapai. “Saat ini, ada 40 guru yang studi di Program Pascasarjana Unnes dan mendapat subsidi,” katanya.

Menurut Surya, tantangan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru semakin besar, karena berdasar hasil uji kompetensi awal, nilai rata-rata guru masih sangat kurang. “Tahun lalu, Direktorat mengalokasikan 2500 subsidi untuk guru SMA dan SMK,namun nyatanya hanya terserap sebanyak 500. Oleh sebab itu, tahun ini kami hanya mengalokasikan sebanyak 1.000 saja,” ujarnya.

Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Sudijono Sastroatmodjo MSi mengemukakan, jalinan kerja sama ini akan memberikan andil besar dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. “Sangat disayangkan bila ada guru, terutama yang telah tersertifikasi, tidak berupaya untuk selalu meningkatkan kompetensi. Sertifikasi bukanlah akhir dari capaian guru,” tandas rektor.
