Unnes Tawarkan Kursus Singkat di Chiang Mai University

Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) bekerja sama dengan Chiang Mai University Thailand menyelenggarakan kegiatan internasional bertajuk, “Pre ASEAN Thai Language and Culture Awareness”. Pendaftaran program yang terbuka bagi mahasiswa Unnes ini hingga 8 September 2012.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerja Sama Unnes Prof Fathur Rokhman mengatakan, dari pendaftar tersebut, nantinya Unnes akan memberangkatkan sebanyak 10 mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan dan angkatan. “Kegiatan berlangsung di Thailand dalam 14 hari, yaitu 8-21 Oktober 2012,” paparnya, Rabu (8/8), di kampus Sekaran.

Dikatakan, garis besar kegiatan adalah perkenalan bahasa dan budaya Thailand yang akan diberikan kepada setiap peserta program. Peserta juga akan diajak berkunjung ke situs-situs bersejarah yang terdapat di sekitar Chiang Mai, di antaranya Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens, Wiang Kum Kam. “Selain itu, peserta akan diajak berinteraksi dengan penduduk lokal di pasar tradisional, berinteraksi dengan para biksu di kuil Budha, wisata kuliner, kursus tari-tarian tradisional, dan lain-lain,” kata Prof Fathur.

Subsidi dari Unnes

Mahasiswa Unnes yang tertarik untuk mengikuti program ini dikenakan biaya Rp10 juta dari total biaya Rp15 juta. “Unnes akan memberikan subsidi sebesar 5 juta rupiah,” jelas Prof Fathur.

Adapun persyaratan lain, peserta adalah mahasiswa aktif yang memiliki paspor. Jika belum memiliki, mahasiswa yang bersangkutan siap untuk mengurus kepemilikan paspor; memiliki IPK minimal 2,75 yang dibuktikan dengan transkrip nilai akademik; mampu berbahasa Inggris secara aktif maupun pasif (diutamakan memiliki sertifikat keterampilan berbahasa Inggris); sehat jasmani dan rohani.

Fasilitas yang akan diperoleh peserta selama mengikuti kegiatan di Thailand di antaranya 13 hari bermalam di Sirinart Garden Hotel; 30 jam kursus budaya dan bahasa Thailand; transportasi lokal; konsumsi selama kegiatan; pemandu berbahasa Indonesia dan local guide selama program berlangsung.
