Unnes Sosialisasikan Masuk Perguruan Tinggi di Pesantren

Sebagai bukti komitmen mengakomodasi lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) berbasis pesantren se eks Karesidenan Kedu, Banyumas, dan Daerah Istimewa Jogjakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) menyosialiasikan seleksi masuk perguruan tinggi kepada 83 SMK tersebut.

Sosialisasi disampaikan di sejumlah pondok pesantren (ponpes), antara lain Kabupaten Jepara, Rembang, Magelang, Semarang, Pekalongan, dan Pati. Di Kabupaten Magelang sosialisasi disampaikan di SMK Syubbanul Wathon ponpes Asrama Pelajar Islam Tegalrejo Magelang, Rabu (8/5). Kepala sekolah dan ratusan siswa SMK hadir untuk mendapatkan penjelasan tentang prosedur seleksi masuk perguruan tinggi.

“Lulusan pesantren dapat melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi negeri mana pun yang diinginkan, termasuk Unnes,” ungkap Kepala Biro Administrasi Akademik, Kemahasiswaan, dan Kerjasama (BAAKK) Unnes Heri Kismaryono MM.

Unnes tak hanya melakukan sosisalisasi seleksi masuk perguruan tinggi, namun juga memberikan motivasi kepada kepala sekolah untuk memilih kampus konservasi ini sebagai muara pendidikan bagi lulusan SMK berbasis pesantren.

“Jika lulusan pesantren kami gandeng, lalu memilih prodi pendidikan, bangsa ini akan semakin berkualitas karena akan muncul calon guru yang cakap intelektual, emosional, dan spiritual,” lanjut Kepala BAAKK yang didampingi Kepala Bagian Kerjasama, Supaat MPd .

Bidik Misi

Dengan kemajuan informasi teknologi yang dimiliki Unnes ini, menurut Heri Kismaryono dapat mengakses segala informasi tentang Unnes dengan sangat mudah. Misalnya informasi program Bantuan Pendidikan Miskin Berprestasi (Bidikmisi) Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional kepada keluarga yang kurang mampu secara ekonomi.

Jumlah penerima bidikmisi tiap tahun selalu meningkat. Yakni tahun 2010 Unnes dipercaya menyalurkan sebanyak 450, 2011 (1.450), dan 2012 (1.750). Pada tahun 2011 dan 2012 Unnes menempati peringkat pertama universitas penerima bidikmisi terbanyak, “bidikmisi merupakan beasiswa penuh bagi mahasiswa yang berprestasi namun kurang mampu secara ekonomi selama delapan semester,” kata Heri.

Tingginya kepercayaan pemerintah kepada Unnes untuk menyalurkan Bidikmisi, karena Unnes terus mengajukan penambahan kuota dan penyalurannya yang akuntabel.

“Kami menerjunkan tim survei ke tiap rumah calon penerima Bidikmisi untuk mengecek sejauh mana kekurangmampuan yang dialami pemohon, mulai dari kondisi rumah sampai penghasilan dan kebutuhan orang tua,” tegasnya

Heri juga mengemukakan saat ini calon mahasiswa baru yang sudah mendaftar lewat Bidikmisi hampir mencapai 13 ribu. Sementara kuota Bidikmisi yang disalurkan Unnes tahun 2013 untuk 1.750 orang.

Dihubungi ditempat berbeda, Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerjasama Prof Fathur Rokhman mengemukakan, sosialisasi ini juga merupakan kerjasama antara Unnes dengan ponpes untuk saling mengisi dengan potensi masing-masing, baik dalam hal pengajaran, penelitian, maupun pengabdian pada masyarakat. “Tentu kami juga berharap, para santri juga bisa melanjutkan pendidikan tinggi seperti di universitas kami,” katanya.
