UNNES Selenggarakan Sosialisasi Beasiswa dan Studi di New Zealand

International Office Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan kegiatan Sosialisasi Beasiswa dan Studi di New Zealand pada Selasa (03/10) di Ruang 405, Gedung Rektorat UNNES. Acara ini diikuti oleh kalangan mahasiswa dan dosen yang khususnya ingin melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri. Pada kesempatan kali ini, UNNES menghadirkan pembicara utama yaitu Ms. Victoria McEniery yang didatangkan langsung dari Unversity of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.

Dalam kesempatannya, Victoria menjelaskan alasan memilih Negara New Zealand sebagai pilihan lokasi studi dan khususnya kelebihan dari Otago University. Ia mengungkapkan New Zealand merupakan negara peringkat pertama yang paling aman dan damai. Sedangkan Otago University merupakan Universitas paling tua di New Zealand. Fakta lain adalah 80% dari mahasiwa Otago University merupakan mahasiswa internasional dari berbagai negara di dunia. Selain itu, Ia menceritakan tentang berbagai fasilitas menarik di Otago University.

Ia juga memberikan informasi mengenai berbagai program di Otago University misalnya untuk Program Master dapat ditempuh selama 2 tahun (tahun pertama untuk Coursework dan tahun kedua untuk penelitian) dan Program Doktor dapat ditempuh selama 3 tahun. Waktu pendaftaran Program Master untuk semester satu yaitu pada tanggal 31 Oktober dan semester dua pada tanggal 30 April sedangakan Program Doktor dibuka tanpa ada batas waktu. Turut memberikan iniformasi, Nurdina Prasetyo, mahasiswa Program Doktor Jurusan Pariwisata di Otago University memberikan tips dan pengalaman untuk bisa studi di luar negeri dengan beasisiwa. Pertama, jangan pernah patah semangat dalam berusaha untuk mendapatkan beasiswa. Kedua,  harus mempersiapkan persyaratan dengan baik terutama persyaratan bahasa inggris dan pengurusan administrasi. Ketiga,  berinisiatif dan mencari informasi sebanyak-banyaknya tentang beasiswa dan universitas yang diinginkan.

Selain itu, Nurdina mengungkapkan bahwa banyak sekali beasiswa Post Graduated yang bisa didapat di Otago University antara lain  beasiswa LPDP, Beasiswa Unggulan Dosen Indonesia (BUDI), New Zealand Asean Scolarship, 20 beasiswa Coursework Master Otago University, 10 beasiswa International Master, dan 180 beasiswa Program Doktor di Otago University.
