UNNES Sambut 10 Mahasiswa Asing Peserta ICEP 2017

International Office Universitas Negeri Semarang (IO-UNNES) resmi membuka International Community Engagement Program (ICEP) pada Senin (14/8) di Ruang Rektor, Gedung H Rektorat UNNES. Dalam opening ceremony ini, turut hadir Rektor UNNES, Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman, MHum, beserta jajaran pimpinan.

Dalam sambutannya, Prof Fathur Rokhman menjelaskan bahwa UNNES adalah universitas yang memiliki visi untuk menjadi universitas berwawasan konservasi dan bereputasi internasional. Kemudian, beliau berkata bahwa UNNES adalah universitas dengan standar kelas dunia yang dapat membuat mahasiswa dari berbagai negara belajar mengenai budaya Indonesia, konservasi lingkungan, dan karakter ke-Indonesiaan.

Di bagian akhir, Prof Fathur berpesan pada mahasiswa peserta ICEP untuk menikmati keindahan Semarang dengan mencoba kuliner khas lokal ataupun mengunjungi tempat wisata yang ada. Diharapkan dari ke semua hal tersebut, para mahasiswa dapat pulang kembali ke negaranya dan menyampaikan berita bahwa Indonesia adalah negara yang damai dengan penduduk yang ramah.

Perlu diketahui, ICEP adalah program lolos dana hibah Dikti dari pengajuan Proposal Bantuan Penguatan Kelembagaan Kantor Urusan Internasional (PKKUI). Program ini akan dilakukan selama 11 hari, mulai dari tanggal 14 hingga 25 Agustus 2017.

Terdapat 10 peserta dari 2 perguruan tinggi asing, yakni: Sarawut Buasa, Nitchaya Namthong, Achiraya Korhong, dan Wichapohn Suppajindakorn dari Kasertsart University, Thailand; serta Nur Shakira binti Mohd Mostajab, Nur Amalina binti Muhammad Fadlullah Ng, Hairie Amrie bin Amran, Iqbal Amzar bin Bukhory, Nur Farhah Syahirah binti Hamdan, dan Noor Husnina binti Noor Azam dari Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia.

Ke-sepuluh mahasiswa tersebut akan mengikuti serangkaian kegiatan seperti belajar mengenai biodiesel, pembuatan tulang daun, serta pengenalan budaya Indonesia.
