Unnes Peringkat 48 Kampus Hijau Sedunia

Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) kembali mendapatkan pengakuan sebagai Universitas Konservasi. Awal tahun ini Unnes memperoleh penghargaan, peringkat ke-48 sebagai kampus hijau versi UI Greenmetric.

UI Greenmetric merupakan penilaian tingkat kehijauan perguruan tinggi berskala internasional yang diinisiasi Universitas Indonesia.

Tahun 2013, program ini diikuti 301 perguruan tinggi yang tersebar di 61 negara. Indikator penilaian berdasar atas lokasi dan kelengkapan perguruan tinggi, energi dan perubahan iklim, manajemen limbah, penggunaan air, transportasi, dan pendidikan.

Setelah pengisian secara online, beberapa waktu lalu Unnes dikunjungi visitor UI Greenmetric. Saat kunjungan, yang dinilai positif, terkait kebijakan penataan lingkungan dan transportasi. Aspek ini penyumbang poin tertinggi dalam penilaian.

Setelah penilaian dokumen di ruang Badan Pengembang Konservasi, visitor melanjutkan kunjungan ke beberapa titik, seperti instalasi pengelolaan biogas di Rusunawa putri, embung, shelter bus, gedung serba guna, dan rumah kompos.

Hasil penilaian borang, dokumen, dan visitasi telah menempatkan Unnes meraih peringkat 48 dunia dengan skor 6165. Untuk tingkat nasional, berhasil meraih peringkat ke empat setelah Universitas Indonesia (skor 6379), Institut Pertanian Bogor (skor 6363), dan Universitas Diponegoro (skor 6172).

Untuk skala internasional, tiga besar peringkat UI Greenmetric diraih University of Nottingham, Inggris (skor 7521) peringkat pertama, Peringkat kedua University College Cork National University of Ireland, Irlandia (skor 7328), dan Northeastern University, Amerika Serikat (skor 7170) peringkat ketiga.

Peringkat ini, Unnes mengalami peningkatan dari tahun 2012, menduduki peringkat 82. Tingkat nasional pun, Unnes meningkat tahun 2012 peringkat lima, tahun 2013 ini peringkat empat.

Menanggapi prestasi ini, Prof Dewi Liesnoor, Ketua Badan Pengembang Konservasi menyatakan, semoga hal ini menjadi pemacu semangat dalam mengembangkan program konservasi yang lebih implementatif dan memiliki daya dukung positif terhadap lingkungan.

    Kini saatnya Unnes meningkatkan kualitas dalam hal sanitasi. Langkah pertama adalah soal water treatment karena air yang mengalir di kran toilet masih berupa air tanah yang tidak layak guna. Air tanah ini membuat toilet dll menjadi coklat dan susah dibersihkan serta tidak higienis. Salam.
