UNNES MoU dengan Waku Pro Science Hiroshima Japan

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) semakin gigih menginternasionalisasikan kampusnya sebagai Universitas konservasi yang mengglobal.

Seperti hari ini, Selasa (30/8) UNNES telah menandatangani surat kesepakatan (Memorandum of Agreement) dengan sebuah lembaga riset berpusat di kota Hiroshima, Jepang yaitu Waku Pro Science Hiroshima.

Dalam surat kesepakatan yang ditandatangani oleh Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum selaku Rektor UNNES dan Profesor Hayashi Takehiro DSc selaku Chairman (Kepala) lembaga Waku Pro Science Hiroshima.

Bentuk kerjasama ini meliputi pertukaran peneliti, kolaborasi penelitian, publikasi internasional, pertukaran informasi, dan bahan-bahan riset.

Waku Pro Science Project adalah sebuah lembaga riset di bawah payung sejumlah universitas besar di Hiroshima Perfecture seperti Hiroshima University, Hijiyama University, dan Hiroshima Perfecture University yang didirikan pada tahun 2003. Adapun penyandang utama dana lembaga ini adalah Mazda Corporation, sebuah perusahaan besar automobile di Jepang.

Di Jepang sendiri, Waku Science Pro sangat agresif dalam melakukan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis riset. Salah satu program andalannya yang selama puluhan tahun berlangsung di Hiroshima University adalah “Professor Goes to School” dimana pihak Universitas, Mazda Corporation dan pemerintah kota Hiroshima memfasilitasi pemberangkatan Profesor bidang Science untuk mengajar di sekolah-sekolah dengan kebutuhan khusus sesuai data dari pihak Dinas Pendidikan kota Hiroshima.

“Dalam setahun akademik, saya sedikitnya memberikan pembelajaran sedikitnya di 17 sekolah dasar dan menengah di sekitar kota Hiroshima dimana para guru ikut serta menyaksikan proses pembelajaran yang saya lakukan diikuti dengan diskusi untuk peningkatan mutu proses dan hasil pembelajaran di sekolah (in-service-teacher training). Pada tahun 2015 topik pembelajarannya adalah pendidikan mitigasi bencana tanah longsor yang terintegrasi dengan mata pelajaran Science di SD dan SMP. Ini dilakukan karena pada tahun 2014 kota Hiroshima dilanda bencana alam dan menelan sedikitnya 70 jiwa,” jelas Profesor Hayashi Takehiro.

Rektor UNNES menandaskan bahwa implementasi MoU pertama dan perdana adalah pelaksanaan “Overseas Academic Lecture” dengan menghadirkan Profesor Hayashi yang memberikan kuliah umum di hadapan sedikitnya 150 mahasiswa di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) pada hari Selasa, 30 Agustus 2016.

Adapun yang lainnya yang akan dilakukan dalam waktu dekat adalah pemberangkatan seorang peneliti Waku Pro dari Jepang ke UNNES sebagai dosen tamu selama satu tahun (2017).
