Unnes Meriahkan Festival Karawitan Internasional

Tim Seni Karawitan Dosen dan Mahasiswa (Sekar Domas) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) ikut ambil bagian dalam Festival Karawitan The 2nd International Jogjakarfest, Senin (24/9), di Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta.

Acara tersebut mundur dari jadwal yang ditentukan sebelumnya, yakni 23 September 2012.

Selain Unnes, festival bertajuk “Kana-kene Karawitan” itu diikuti beberapa kelompok seni, di antaranya STKW Surabaya, SMKI Banyumas, dan grup “Panca Warna” dari Bandung, Jawa Barat.

Sehari sebelumnya (Minggu, 23/9), di tempat yang sama diselenggarakan lomba Gadhon dan Solo Gender yang diikuti beberapa peserta dari mancanegara.

Semarangan

Koordinator Kesenian Unnes Widodo Brotosejati mengatakan, dalam festival itu Sekar Domas dipercaya membawakan gending-gending Semarangan. “Gending yang ditampilkan adalah Ladrang Sinom, Ladrang Ondhe-ondhe, Ladrang Kalpataru, dan Lelagon Tari Bali,” ujar dosen Jurusan Seni Drama Tari dan Musik (Sendratasik) Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Unnes itu.

Di Semarang, Widodo mengatakan, karawitan memiliki gaya yang khas. Perpaduan musikal antara gamelan berlaras slendro dan vokal diatonik menjadi ciri tersendiri yang tidak dimiliki daerah lain. “Hal itu karena akulturasi budaya yang begitu kuat di Semarang, misalnya kedatangan bangsa China dan Arab pada masa itu,” katanya.

Dia juga mengatakan, gending Semarangan yang disajikan Sekar Domas mulai dari masa lampau hingga masa kini. “Tiga gending itu mewakili tiga generasi yang berbeda. Sinom merupakan gending yang dicipta sebelum era Ki Nartosabdo, sedangkan Ondhe-ondhe adalah gending yang dibuat Ki Nartosabdo,” ujar Widodo.

Adapun Ladrang Kalpataru merupakan karya Widodo sendiri yang diciptakan setelah tahun 2010 Unnes menerima anugerah Kalpataru dari Presiden RI. Lelagon Tari Bali juga ia ciptakan sendiri, yang pada tahun 2009 digunakan sebagai materi Pekan Olahraga dan Seni (Porseni) Karawitan tingkat SD/MI.

Pengembangan dan pelestarian

Terpisah, Pembantu Rektor III ISI Yogyakarta Siswadi mengungkapkan, kegiatan ini sebagai salah satu upaya pengembangan dan pelestarian kesenian daerah, khususnya karawitan. “Selain itu juga diharapkan membangun komunikasi dan interaksi antarseniman, pemerhati, dan pecinta karawitan Jawa di seluruh dunia,” katanya.

Sekadar catatan, tim karawitan Unnes telah beberapa kali mengikuti acara kesenian baik dalam maupun luar negeri. Salah satunya pada Juli lalu, tim ini memenuhi panggilan Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia (KBRI) di Prancis.
