Unnes Juarai Lomba Karawitan

Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Karawitan Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) menjuarai Lomba Karawitan Gending-gending Dolanan kategori remaja yang diselenggarakan RRI Surakarta, 19-21 Juni 2013.

Pengumuman pemenang dilakukan di Auditorium Sarsito Mangunkusumo RRI Surakarta, Jumat (21/6). Pada kategori remaja, Unnes menyisihkan 25 kelompok lain yang berasal dari Jateng, DIY, dan Jakarta. Materi yang dibawakan adalah Lelagon Campursari Slendro Sanga dan Lelagon Nonton Wayang Slendro Sanga.

Penyerahan hadiah berupa uang pembinaan Rp15 juta, trofi, dan sertifikat diserahkan langsung oleh Kepala Lembaga Penyiaran Publik (LPP) RRI Surakarta, Drs H Santoso MM. Selain Unnes, juara II diraih SMKI Yogyakarta, juara III diraih Kelompok Kaneman Kepatihan Jebres Surakarta, juara harapan I Kusuma Sukawati Sragen, harapan II SMKI Banyumas.

Pada kategori karawitan putri, juara I Sekar Praja Putri Pemkot Surakarta, juara II KKN Pakarti ISI Yogyakarta, juara III Maranggani Boyolali, harapan I Laraswati Boyolali, harapan II Puspita Laras.

Kategori umum, juara I Gembala Nada Surakarta, juara II Sri Mulya Laras Klaten, juara III Basuki Laras Klaten, harapan I Kencono Sinar Mei Surakarta, harapan II Eko Laras Boyolali. Penggarap gending terbaik diraih kelompok Gembala Nada Surakarta.

Ruang Ekspresi

Santoso dalam sambutan mengatakan, lomba karawitan diselenggarakan bukan hanya bertujuan melestarikan, tetapi juga mengembangkan produk kebudayaan Jawa yang adiluhung itu. “RRI ingin menggairahkan dan memberikan ruang ekspresi bagi pelaku seni karawitan,” ujarnya.

Saat ini, menurut Santoso, remaja sebagai penerus budaya telah terbius oleh industrialisasi seni. Atas hal itu, mereka perlu diingatkan kembali tentang pentingnya merawat seni dan budaya tradisi yang mengandung kearifan lokal.

“Terlebih lagi gending-gending dolanan sudah banyak dilupakan. Lomba ini mencoba mengingatkan kembali bahwa kita begitu banyak memiliki warisan kesenian yang luar biasa. Orang asing saja banyak yang kepincut,” kata Santoso.

Juri Objektif

Salah satu dewan juri yang juga pengajar di Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta Darno SSn mengungkapkan, juri berupaya untuk seobjektif mungkin dan tidak memihak kepada kelompok mana pun.

“Kami menilai dari aspek garap gending, rempeg atau keselarasan, dan kepatutan yang berarti penggarapan gending hendaknya menyesuaikan perkembangan zaman,” kata Darno. Menurutnya, penyesuaian dirasa penting ketika seni tradisi harus bertahan di tengah gempuran industri seni.

Ditemui terpisah, Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum mengatakan, Unnes selalu berupaya memaksimalkan potensi yang dimiliki mahasiswa, baik dalam bidang akademik maupun non-akademik.

Dia mengatakan, UKM Karawitan merupakan salah satu lembaga kemahasiswaan yang telah menuai banyak prestasi. “Selain aktif di dalam dan di luar kampus, tahun lalu beberapa mahasiswa yang tergabung di dalamnya mewakili Indonesia dalam menyajikan kesenian di Prancis, Thailand, dan Singapura,” kata Prof Fathur.
