Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menandatangani perjanjian kerja sama dengan Pukyong National University (PKNU), Korea Selatan, Senin (7/11).

Penandatanganan kerja sama akademik tersebut digelar di Jangbogo dan ditanda tangani langsung oleh Rektor PKNU Prof Jang Young-Soo dan Rektor UNNES Prof Dr S Martono MSi yang disaksikan Ketua DPR RI Puan Maharani dan Kepala Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) Laksana Tri Handoko serta Megawati Soekarnoputri Ketua Dewan Pengarah BRIN.

Rektor UNNES Prof Dr S Martono MSi menyampaikan sebagai Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Hukum (PTN-BH) yang memiliki visi Universitas Bereputasi Dunia, Pelopor Kecemerlangan Pendidikan yang Berwawasan Konservasi, UNNES berkomitmen untuk terus menjalin kerja sama dengan berbagai pihak.

“Di era disrupsi sekarang ini, perguruan tinggi memang dituntut untuk melakukan kolaborasi, apalagi UNNES sudah bertransformasi menjadi PTNBH, untuk itu UNNES terus meningkatkan kerja sama dengan berbagai pihak sebagai upaya untuk kualitas pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan-teknologi dan internasionalisasi tentunya,” kata Prof Martono.

Selain UNNES, ada tujuh universitas di Indonesia yang juga melakukan penandatangan kerja sama akademik antara lain Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Universitas Mataram (Unram), Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), dan Universitas Pattimura (Unpatti).

Dalam perjanjian kerja sama itu, para pihak juga menjalin ikatan persahabatan, saling berkolaborasi akademik, melakukan pertukaran budaya dan personel (mahasiswa, cendekiawan, dan peneliti), serta memfasilitasi upaya kolaboratif lainnya yang bermanfaat.

Perjanjian juga memungkinkan kerja sama di bidang khusus lainnya yang dapat disepakati bersama antara para pihak. Selanjutnya, para pihak pun diharapkan berusaha untuk membangun kemitraan kerjasama yang solid melalui kerjasama internasional di bidang pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan dan budaya, dan berkontribusi pada pencapaian pembangunan berkelanjutan dari semua pihak yang bergabung dalam perjanjian ini.

Dalam kesempatan ini, Ketua DPR RI Puan Maharani menyampaikan, kerja sama di antara perguruan tinggi antar negara merupakan hal yang semakin berkembang pesat saat ini.

“Dunia pendidikan tidak saja merupakan urusan domestik semata, namun sudah menjadi bagian kerja sama antar negara. Kolaborasi perguruan tinggi antar negara dapat berkontribusi untuk meningkatkan mutu perguruan tinggi dan kualitas sumber daya manusia suatu negara,” kata Puan.

Sementara, Kepala BRIN Laksana Tri Handoko menyatakan akan memaksimalkan kerja sama antara PKNU dan 8 universitas di Indonesia untuk kepentingan riset.

PKNU merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan yang terdepan dalam bidang riset kelautan terutama untuk studi perikanan, maritim dan juga pengembangan teknologi inovasi.
