Dorong 189 Doktor Jadi Profesor, Unnes Berikan Fasilitas

Hinggasemester pertama 2013 Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) telah memiliki 189 doktor di berbagai bidang ilmu. Mereka didorong terus berkarya sehingga bisa segera menjadi profesor. Universitas akan memberikan fasilitas dan bantuan teknis kepada mereka supaya proses pengajuan menjadi profesor berjalan lancar.

“Ini bagian dari upaya kita mengakselerasi kinerja dan layanan prima. Kampus ini akan semakin maju kalau lebih banyak orang pintar, lebih banyak profesor,” kata Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum dalam Workshop Pengembangan Karir Dosen Menuju Gelar Profesor, Selasa (16/7).

Universitas, lanjut Rektor, akan memberikan pendampingan sesuai kebutuhan masing-masing calon profesor. “Kalau kesulitannya adalah menulis di jurnal internasional, kita akan bentuk tim. Kalau penerjemahan, kita bantu penerjemah. Kalau kesulitan mencari reviewer, biar saya yang cari. Kalau reviewernya perlu dihonori biar universitas yang honori,” kata profesor sosiolinguistik itu.

Secara umum aturan pemberian gelar kehormatan profesor telah diatur dalam Peraturan Menteri PAN dan Reformasi Birokrasi Nomor 17 Tahun 2013. Ketua Komisi Profesor Senat Universitas Negeri Semarang Prof Dr Rustono MHum berpendapat, aturan ini memperketat sistem pemberian gelar profesor. Meski begitu, ia optimis dosen Unnes bisa memenuhinya asal mengikuti prosedur yang telah ditetapkan.

“Tantangan memang semakin sulit, tapi ini selaras dengan ketetapan pemerintah sebelumnya,” kata Prof Rustono, profesor ilmu pragmatik yang juga menjadi satu dari 64  tim penilai di Dirjen Dikti.

Rustono mengingatkan, salah satu hal sederhana namun penting yang harus diingat calon profesor adalah, pengajuan gelar profesor harus linear dengan bidang keahliannya yang spesifik. Berkas pengajuan sejak di universitas juga harus disiapkan dengan baik agar tidak ditolak tim penilai dan tim validasi.

“Tujuh puluh persen masalah dalam proses pengajuan ada di berkas pengajuan. Masalah lainnya, konten keasliannya rendah, melampirkan jurnal rakitan, label akreditasi palsu, dan nama pengarang sisipan,” lanjutnya. Menurutnya, lebih baik meneirma peneliaian rendah di tingkat unoiversitas namun sempat memperbaiki daripada mendapat nilai tinggi tapi justru gagal di tim validasi.

Sekitar 136 doktor se-Unnes hadir dalam workshop yang digelar di lantai 3 gedung C7 itu. Mereka memanfaatkan kesempatan ini untuk berkonsultasi berbagai persoalan teknis. Hingga berita ini ditulis acara masih berlangsung.
