Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) sends its delegation to the 13th CRISU-CUPT International Conference held in Bangkok, 10-12 October 2018. The CRISU/CUPT international conference is an annual regularly event as a body of university presidents, deans, executives, and students from Thailand and Indonesia to share visions, knowledge’s and experiences influencing the higher education in both countries. The theme of the 13th CRISU-CUPT international conference is “Strategies for Disruptive Innovation of Indonesia and Thai Universities”. This event is combined with the KMITL Engineering Expo 2018 in BITEC – Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand.
Rector of UNNES, Prof. Fathur Rokhman states that he is very proud that our institution is invited to this international forum. Not all universities in Indonesia are invited to this event. The Rector also says that it is important to send our Deans to this event because they need to compare their achievements with other Deans in South East Asia. Fathur highlights that the competition at UNNES is no longer based in local level but it has expanded to Asian level. Deans and all lecturers should realize this by now.
Tandiyo Rahayu, Dean of Faculty of Sports Science, thinks that this conference is an issue of importance. She is able to expand her networks at this event especially with the interconnection of sports faculty members in Indonesia and Thailand. She states that disruption can only be achieved by collaboration.
The conference is attended by Prof. Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro, former Indonesian Director General for Higher Education and Prof. Udom Kachintorn, Deputy Minister, Thailand Ministry of Education. The UNNES delegation will be back to Indonesia on the 13th of October to follow up the results of the meeting. The full agenda of this event can be downloaded here.
