UNNES Berangkatkan 32 Mahasiswa ke Malaysia dalam Giat Internasional 2025

Dalam mengukuhkan perannya pada pengembangan internasionalisasi pendidikan dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) memberangkatkan 32 mahasiswa terpilih dalam program UNNES GIAT Internasional 2025 ke Negara Jiran, Malaysia. Program ini merupakan program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) yang dirancang untuk memperluas pengalaman mahasiswa lewat keterlibatan langsung di kegiatan sosial lintas negara.

Kepala Pusbang KKN LPPM UNNES, Dr. Edi Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Pd. menyampaikan gelombang pertama kegiatan ini akan berlangsung pada Juli hingga Agustus 2025 selama 28 hari bertempat di Malaysia. UNNES Giat Internasional diselenggarakan bekerja sama dengan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) sebagai mitra tuan rumah.

“Kegiatan GIAT UNNES ini memberikan ruang belajar lintas budaya sekaligus memperkuat jejaring mahasiswa di tingkat internasional” ungkapnya.

Seleksi peserta dilakukan secara ketat melalui dua tahapan, yaitu seleksi administrasi dan wawancara. Dari total 90 pendaftar yang mengikuti seleksi wawancara pada Jum’at 13 Juni di Gedung LPPM UNNES, sebanyak 32 mahasiswa dinyatakan lolos untuk mengikuti GIAT Internasional 2025 di Malaysia.

Program ini juga memberikan keuntungan akademik melalui rekognisi setara mata kuliah Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) maupun Lantip. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga mendapat manfaat non-akademik berupa peningkatan kompetensi, kemandirian, cross-culture, serta pengembangan soft skill.

UNNES juga turut memberikan dukungan pembiayaan parsial bagi mahasiswa yang terpilih. Meskipun tidak menanggung penuh, universitas berkomitmen untuk dapat meringankan beban finansial para peserta.

Salah satu mahasiswa terpilih , Muhammad Ghufron Faqih dari Prodi Pendidikan Kepelatihan Olahraga, Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan, mengungkapkan motivasinya mengikuti UNNES GIAT Internasional.

“Saya ingin mendorong masyarakat agar aktif, tidak harus dengan olahraga berat, cukup berjalan kaki dan menjaga kesehatan. Program yang saya rancang nantinya berkaitan dengan aktivitas motorik, massage, dan edukasi gaya hidup sehat.” ungkapnya.

Program UNNES Giat Internasional 2025 akan dilanjutkan dengan gelombang kedua pada Oktober-November di Jeddah, Arab Saudi.

Melalui kegiatan ini, UNNES terus berkomitmen pada visinya sebagai universitas berwawasan konservasi dan bereputasi internasional, yang mendidik mahasiswanya tidak hanya cerdas secara akademis, tetapi juga peduli dan memberikan dampak bagi masyarakat.
