FBS UNNES Bekerja Sama dengan Universiti Malaysia Sabah Selenggarakan Guest Lecture

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) bekerja sama dengan Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) menyelenggarakan Guest Lecture sesi pertama secara daring yang mengangkat tema “Pandemic COVID-19 from the Perspective of Linguistic, Literature, and Language Teaching”, Sabtu (4/9). Agenda ini dihadiri lebih dari 150 mahasiswa dari Fakultas Bahasa Seni (FBS) UNNES dan Faculty of Psychology and Education UMS.

Guest lecture ini diagendakan dalam 3 sesi selama bulan September dengan menghadirkan pembicara dari UMS dan UNNES. Berlaku sebagai narasumber sesi pertama (4/9) Dr Tommi Yuniawan MHum, dosen dan peneliti dari Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FBS bersama Assoc Prof Dr Wardatul Akmam Din, dosen dan peneliti dari UMS.

Dr Tommi Yuniawan MHum dalam paparan materinya menyampaikan transaksi informasi menjadi salah satu kunci penting dalam penanganan pandemi Covid-19. Artinya, persepsi publik terhadap risiko dan ancaman Covid-19 turut dipengaruhi oleh informasi yang mereka terima.

Selain itu, Dr Tommi juga menuturkan bahwa melimpahnya informasi terkait Covid-19 ini berpotensi menimbulkan infodemi yang terkadang sulit dibedakan antara informasi yang benar dan yang salah atau hoax. Oleh karena itu, pemberitaan Covid-19 di surat kabar Indonesia dan Malaysia menjadi hal menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian dapat diarahkan pada paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan analisis framing berita di media massa yang terbit di kedua negara.

Assoc Prof Dr Wardatul menyambut gagasan riset tersebut dengan menyampaikan isu-isu riset terbaru yang dapat diangkat terkait kondisi pandemi COVID-19, termasuk dari sisi pembelajaran bahasa. Menurutnya pendidik mesti fokus pada apa yang mereka yakini sebagai komponen terpenting untuk mengembangkan diri selaras dengan posisinya sebagai guru.

Agenda guest lecture yang merupakan bagian dari penelitian kerja sama pendanaan DIPA UNNES 2021 ini juga sekaligus menginisiasi kerja sama antara UNNES dan Universiti Malaysia Sabah yang akan dikuatkan dengan implementation arrangement antara kedua pihak.

Sesi kedua akan diselenggarakan pada minggu kedua bulan September dengan pembicara Assoc Prof Dr Suyansah Swanto (UMS) dan Wati Istanti SPd MPd (UNNES). Adapun, sesi ketiga akan diagendakan pada minggu keempat bulan September dengan pembicara Datin Nik Zaitun Nik Mohamed (UMS) dan Santi Pratiwi Tri Utami SPd MPd (UNNES).
