Unnes Akan Terima 6.150 Mahasiswa Baru

Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) akan menerima 6.150 mahasiswa dalam penerimaan mahasiswa baru 2015. Mahasiswa sebanyak itu bakal diperebutkan lewat Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN), Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN), dan Seleksi Penerimaan Mahasiswa Unnes (SPMU).

Penegasan itu disampaikan Kepala UPT Pusat Humas Amir Sisbiyanto, Kamis (22/1), terkait dengan munculnya sejumlah pertanyaan tentang skema penerimaan mahasiswa baru.

“Berdasarkan Pasal 2 Peraturan Menteri Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia nomor 2 Tahun 2015 tentang penerimaan mahasiswa baru program sarjana pada Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (PTN), untuk setiap program studi dapat dilakukan melalui pola penerimaan mahasiswa secara nasional atau bentuk lain. Dari situ kemudian diturunkan ketentuan, skema penerimaan mahasiswa baru secara nasional, yakni SNMPTN, SBMPTN, dan SPMU,” katanya.

Skema ini, lanjut Amir, tidak berbeda dari yang berlaku pada tahun sebelumnya. “Setiap PTN tetap harus menyediakan paling sedikit 50% kuota daya tampungnya melalui SNMPTN, paling sedikit 30% melalui SBMPTN, dan paling banyak 20% melalui SPMU yang didasarkan pada mekanisme yang ditetapkan oleh PTN masing-masing,” jelasnya.

Mengenai biaya, dia menandaskan, pada SNMPTN semua pendaftar dibebaskan dari segala biaya alias gratis. “Berbeda dari SNMPTN, calon mahasiswa SBMPTN dikenai biaya sesuai ketentuan pemerintah. Sedangkan seleksi mendiri , biaya pendaftaran bergantung pada ketentuan tiap-tiap perguruan tinggi,” katanya.

Secara khusus, Amir menandaskan, sebagian besar mahasiswa Unnes akan diterima lewat SNMPTN. “Lewat SNMPTN akan kami terima minimal 3.075 mahasiswa atau paling sedikit 50% dari kuota keseluruhan. Sisanya, minimal 1.845 orang (30%) melalui SBMPTN dan paling banyak 1.230 orang (20%) lewat seleksi mandiri,” katanya.

Mahasiswa sebanyak itu akan diterima di 72 program studi yang tersebar di delapan fakultas. “Mahasiswa kependidikan memang lebih banyak dibanding dengan non-kependidikan. Hal ini disebabkan Unnes merupakan lembaga pendidikan tenaga kependidikan (LPTK) yang memasok calon guru yang handal di seluruh Indonesia . Namun dari tahun ke tahun, peminat pada program studi nonkependidikan juga meningkat seiring dengan bertambahnya daya tampung pula,” katanya.
