Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) kembali menjalin kerja sama dengan universitas terkemuka di Australia.

Setelah sebelumnya meneken kerja sama dengan University of Southern Queensland, kini Universitas Konservasi membangun relasi kemitraan dengan University of Tasmania (UTas).

Dua delegasi Unnes, yakni Dr Issy Yuliasri bersama Prof. Dr Etty Soesilowati Msi menggunjungi universitas itu pada 12 hingga 15 Agustus lalu atas undangan UTas.

“Agenda kerja sama yang akan diprioritaskan adalah melakukan penelitian kerja sama internasional dengan Assoc Prof Pamella Allen terkait alih bahasa novel Harry Potter dalam perspekeitf dua budaya yang berbeda,” terang Dr Issy.

Selain mengadakan forum diskusi, kesempatan tersebut juga digunakan delegas Unnes untuk melakukan workshop penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar pada mahasiswa Utas yang mengambil program studi kajian Indonesia.

“Kunjungan ini memiliki makna bahwa Indonesia merupakan target yang menarik di mata dunia sehingga banyak bermunculan pusat-pusat kajian tentang Indonesia di berbagai perguruan tinggi di dunia,” lanjut Dr Issy.

Hal ini, lanjutnya, sekaligus memberikan peluang bagi sivitas akademika untuk melakukan kerja sama, baik dibidang penelitian maupun studi belajar di UTas.

“Dalam waktu dekat kegiatan ini akan ditindaklanjuti dengan kegiatan seminar internasional di Unnes yang diperkirakan tanggal 26 – 28 September 2014,” pungkasnya.

Di Australia, UTas merupakan salah satu universitas dengan reputasi sangat baik. Universitas yang berdiri sejak 1820 ini bahkan masuk sebagai empat universitas terbesar di negeri kanguru itu.

  1. Semoga Visi Unnes sebagai universitas bertaraf Internasional dapat terlaksana secara cepat dengan perluasan kerjasama antaruniversitas terkemuka di negera-negara lain. Dengan begitu saya yakin sebelum tahun 2020 Unnes sebagai universitas konservasi yang sehat, unggul, dan sejahtera bukanlah suatu yang abstrak lagi akan tetapi menjadi sesuatu yang konkret.     Congratulation to Unnes for further collaborating with excellent universities overseas, including UTas. This really shows the commitment from Unnes for being a world class university.
