UKM Band Juara I, UKM Ketoprak Terbaik III

Pada malam yang sama, Sabtu 7 September 2013, dua Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) bidang seni di Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) menuai pretasi membanggakan. UKM Band berhasil memenangi Festival Band Asian Beat tingkat nasional dan bakal menjadi wakil Indonesia pada level Asia. Sedangkan UKM Ketoprak dinobatkan sebagai penyaji terbaik III pada gelaran Festival Ketoprak Se-Kota Semarang.

UKM Band Unnes berhasil menyisihkan band lain yang merupakan wakil dari berbagai provinsi, yakni Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, Jambi, Lampung, Pekanbaru, dan Batam. Sebelumnya, UKM Band telah berhasil menjadi yang terbaik pada audisi tingkat Jateng dan DIY.

Pendamping UKM Band Unnes Abdulrachman MPd menuturkan, semua band yang tampil pada festival yang digelar di Yamaha Center Semanggi, Jakarta Selatan itu, mampu menyajikan performa terbaik. “Tetapi kami optimis menang,” tulisnya via pesan singkat kepada unnes.ac.id, sesaat setelah pengumuman.

Adapun juri festival adalah Budi Haryono (eks drummer “GIGI”), Iwan Xaverius (bassis “EDANE”), dan Deni Chasmala (produser dan konduktor orkestra). “Festival pada level Asia akan diselenggarakan 10 November 2013 di Balai Sarbini, Jakarta Selatan,” kata Abdulrachman.

Tak kalah membanggakan, UKM Ketoprak ditabalkan Dewan Kesenian Semarang sebagai penyaji terbaik III pada gelaran rutin tahunan itu. Penyaji terakhir pada hari kedua festival itu mampu tampil maksimal di atas panggung pentas di Kawasan Kota Lama Semarang.

Adapun penyaji terbaik I diraih Komunitas Tirang, sedangkan penyaji terbaik II oleh Kartika Budaya.

Gigok Anurogo, salah satu dewan juri yang juga seniman ketoprak dari Surakarta mengungkapkan, secara keseluruhan, kualitas penyutradaraan dan pemain semua penampil meingkat dari tahun sebelumnya.

“Akan tetapi, banyak sutradara yang masih terjebak pada adegan konvensional dan perlu melakukan pengkajian logika atau penyesuaian dengan kondisi kekinian,” ujar Gigok.

Menurutnya, agar tercipta iklim kompetisi yang sehat dan keberlangsungan seni ketoprak, regenerasi pemain menjadi hal penting.
