Tingkatkan Kompetensi Global, 878 Mahasiswa FBS UNNES Ikuti Sertifikasi

Sebanyak 878 mahasiswa dari Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) ambil bagian dalam program sertifikasi internasional Google Cloud Computing Foundation, sebuah inisiatif strategis hasil kolaborasi antara UNNES dan Google International Office. Program ini berlangsung dari 1 Mei hingga 30 Juni 2025 dan diikuti oleh mahasiswa berbagai program studi di FBS.

Selama dua bulan pelaksanaan, para peserta dengan antusias menyelesaikan delapan modul utama yang dirancang untuk memperkenalkan dan memperkuat pemahaman tentang komputasi awan (cloud computing) berbasis Google Cloud. Modul tersebut meliputi: Cloud Computing Fundamentals, Infrastructure in Google Cloud, Networking & Security in Google Cloud, Data, ML, and AI in Google Cloud, Implement Load Balancing on Compute Engine, Set Up an App Dev Environment on Google Cloud, Build a Secure Google Cloud Network, dan Prepare Data for ML APIs on Google Cloud

Melalui program ini, mahasiswa mendapatkan pemahaman praktis mengenai infrastruktur digital masa kini. Setiap peserta yang menyelesaikan pelatihan akan memperoleh sertifikat resmi dari Google, yang diakui secara internasional dan menjadi bukti keahlian dalam pemanfaatan teknologi cloud untuk kebutuhan industri modern.

Kegiatan sertifikasi ini turut mendukung SDGs poin ke-17 (Sustainable Development Goal 17) yang menekankan pentingnya kemitraan global di bidang pendidikan dan peningkatan kapasitas individu, seperti melalui kerja sama dengan mitra strategis seperti Google International Office dalam menyediakan program sertifikasi. Kolaborasi ini membuka peluang bagi mahasiswa dan tenaga pendidik untuk mengikuti pelatihan dan sertifikasi berskala global, yang relevan dengan kebutuhan industri masa kini.

Dekan FBS UNNES, Prof. Dr. Tommi Yuniawan, M. Hum., menyatakan bahwa kerja sama ini merupakan bagian dari langkah strategis fakultas untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan teknologi yang relevan di era digital.

“Saya sangat mengapresiasi antusiasme luar biasa dari para mahasiswa dalam mengikuti program ini. Ini menunjukkan kesiapan mereka untuk beradaptasi dengan perubahan teknologi global,” ujarnya.

Lebih dari sekadar pelatihan teknis, program ini juga mendukung capaian Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) 2, yaitu memberikan mahasiswa pengalaman di luar kampus. Dengan mengikuti sertifikasi dari mitra industri global seperti Google, mahasiswa tidak hanya memperluas wawasan teknis, tetapi juga meningkatkan kesiapan kerja dan daya saing mereka di pasar global.

Langkah kolaboratif antara UNNES dan Google ini menjadi bagian dari upaya berkelanjutan untuk mencetak lulusan yang unggul, adaptif, dan siap bersaing di era transformasi digital.
