Tingkatkan Kesadaran Sejarah, FIS UNNES Hadirkan Pakar Arsip Negeri Kincir Angin

Arsip merupakan dokumen peninggalan yang memuat informasi peristiwa pada suatu zaman. Indonesia dengan latar belakang sejarah panjang meninggalkan jejak-jejak kejadian yang sampai detik ini masih terpelihara dengan baik. Keberadaan arsip sebagai bukti peristiwa bersejarah di Indonesia tersebar ke seluruh penjuru dunia pada umumnnya.

Belanda merupakan bangsa dengan pengalaman mendalam sehubungan dengan masa lalu bangsa Indonesia. Tidak sedikit arsip-arsip yang memuat kejadian bersejarah di Nusantara masih tersimpan rapi di sana, diantaranya adalah untuk bahan riset.

UNtuk itu, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial (FIS) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan ‘Workshop Kajian Ilmu Sosial Menggunakan Arsip Nasional Belanda’ Jumat (29/11) bekerjasama dengan ‘National Archief – Netherlands’. Kegiatan diikuti ratusan dosen dan mahasiswa di lingkungan.

Dekan FIS UNNES Dr Moh Solehatul Mustofa MA dalam sambutannya menyampaikan, bangsa yang besar tidak akan mencampakkan masa lalunya. Pengalaman sejarah dapat menjadi pelajaran berharga bagi masa depan bangsa/negara yang lebih baik.

Kegiatan seperti ini selaras dengan semangat konservasi yang berupaya melestarikan/mengawetkan keanekaragaman hayati/non-hayati, kata Mustofa.

Mustofa juga mengemukakan, arsip bersejarah merupakan dokumen yang tidak bisa mendapat perlakuan secara sembarangan mengingat keawetan dan kelestariannya adalah hal mutlak yang harus dijaga. Merawat arsip adalah implementasi konkret dari nilai ‘PEDULI’ yang diusung oleh FIS UNNES.

Narasumber Nicolaas Antonius van Horn (Staff of Nationaal Archief) Belanda mengungkapkan arsip merupakan dokumen jejak rekam peristiwa masa lampau yang dapat menjadi refleksi suatu zaman.

Akses terhadap arsip saat ini dinilai sangat mudah karena sudah terdigitalisasi sehingga memungkinkan untuk dimanfaatkan oleh berbagai pihak. Tidak terkecuali bagi dunia pendidikan, arsip akan membuat siswa memperoleh pengalaman pembelajaran yang lebih nyata.

Melalui kegiatan ini, segenap peserta diajak lebih peduli terhadap arsip sebagai bukti peninggalan peristiwa bersejarah. Dengan sejarah, seseorang secara individu akan mengalami pendewasaan hidup. Secara kolektif, sejarah membuat manusia memiliki gairah bersama untuk membangun bangsa/negara.
