Tim PHP2D UKM RIPTEK Ciptakan Mesin Penetas Telur Otomatis Bertenaga Surya

Tim Program Holistik Pembinaan dan Pemberdayaan Desa (PHP2D) UKM RIPTEK Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) telah membuat inovasi mesin penetas telur otomatis bertenaga surya di Desa Timpik Kecamatan Susukan Kabupaten Semarang, bulan Oktober lalu.

Mesin penetas telur otomatis ini diciptakan sebagai upaya peningkatan produksi peternakan kelompok tani Ngupoyo Upo di Desa Timpik.

Ketua tim PHP2D UKM RIPTEK UNNES menyampaikan bahwa adanya inovasi mesin penetas telur otomatis bertenaga surya dilatar belakangi dari hasil observasi dan analisis kebutuhan masyarakat di Desa Timpik.

“Dengan melakukan observasi dan analisis kebutuhan masyarakat, tim kami mendapati adanya permasalahan pada proses penetasan telur akibat cuaca yang tidak menentu. Ketika cuaca terlalu panas, hampir 50 % dari total telur yang dierami gagal menetas. Observasi ini dilakukan dengan metode survei lapangan dan analisis kebutuhan masyarakat,” ujar Hafidz, ketua tim PHP2D UKM RIPTEK UNNES.

Inovasi mesin penetas telur otomatis bertenaga surya ini merupakan langkah awal dalam upaya peningkatan produksi peternakan kelompok tani Ngupoyo Upo Desa Timpik.

Hafidz berharap, dengan adanya inovasi mesin penetas telur otomatis bertenaga surya ini dapat meningkatkan perekonomian bagi kelompok tani Ngupoyo Upo Desa Timpik, serta menjadi sarana bagi mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan nilai-nilai dan karakter dalam bermasyarakat.

Triwiyono, Kepala Dusun Sumber Desa Timpik, menyampaikan bahwa adanya diskusi terbuka antara mahasiswa pelaksana program dengan masyarakat desa akan semakin meningkatkan potensi masyarakat untuk turut berkontribusi dalam upaya pembangunan desa serta menemukan permasalahan yang tepat.

Salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi kelompok tani Ngupoyo Upo Desa Timpik adalah telur gagal menetas akibat cuaca yang tidak menentu. Ketika cuaca terlalu panas hampir 50% dari total telur yang dierami gagal menetas. Hal tersebut tentunya dapat merugikan perekonomian masyarakat Desa Timpik.

Oleh karena itu, inovasi mesin penetas telur otomatis bertenaga surya ini merupakan langkah yang tepat untuk meningkatkan produksi peternakan kelompok tani Ngupoyo Upo Desa Timpik. Dengan alat ini telur yang gagal menetas dapat diminimalkan, serta suhu dan kelembapan dapat diatur.

Penggunaan sel surya dimaksudkan supaya alat dapat bekerja terus menerus dan tidak terjadi masalah ketika pemadaman listrik serta dapat mengurangi ongkos produksi karena dapat memangkas biaya listrik dari PLN.

“Kami berharap dengan adanya program holistik pembinaan dan pemberdayaan desa, akan meningkatkan kepedulian mahasiswa dan masyarakat untuk berkontribusi dalam upaya pembangunan desa yang aktif dan sejahtera,” ucapnya.

Dalam Program Holistik Pembinaan dan Pemberdayaan Desa (PHP2D) tahun 2020 ada 2 tim dari UNNES yang lolos yaitu program Mesin Penetas Telur Otomatis Bertenaga Surya oleh UKM Riptek dan Karya Kriya Anyaman Bambu oleh Tim KBBI FBS.
