Tim Pengabdian UNNES Selenggarakan Penguatan Kompetensi Penulisan Buku

Menulis merupakan sebuah proses kreatif untuk menuangkan gagasan dalam bentuk bahasa tulis. Menulis mencakup seluruh kegiatan yang melibatkan pikiran, perasaan, khayalan, kemauan, serta keyakinan. Dalam dunia akademik, bagi sebagian mahasiswa, menulis merupakan salah satu wahana untuk menyampaikan aspirasi.

Dewasa ini, banyak mahasiswa yang berpendapat bahwa menulis adalah suatu hal yang sulit, menjengkelkan, dan tidak penting. Kebudayaan menulis, kini telah tergantikan dengan kebudayaan menyalin (copy-paste), yang menyebabkan mahasiswa menjadi malas untuk menulis. Tidak ada lagi kesadaran untuk belajar menulis dan membuat analisis sendiri. Hal itulah yang menyebabkan mental menulis mahasiswa kini semakin rendah. Kebanyakan dari mahasiswa belum memahami, pentingnya menulis bagi kehidupan mereka di masa yang akan datang.

Latar belakang tersebutlah yang mendorong tim pengabdian Universitas Negeri Semarang untuk menyelenggarakan “Penguatan Kompetensi Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial UNNES dalam Penulisan Buku” pada Selasa (27/7).

Ketua pengabdian Prof Dr Maman Rachman MHum melaporkan, awalnya kegiatan menargetkan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial UNNES, namun melihat besarnya antusiasnya calon peserta webinar dari luar UNNES, kegiatan diubah menjadi kegiatan yang bersifat umum.

“Tercatat ada sekitar 70 peserta yang teregistrasi,” papar Dosen Jurusan Politik dan Kewarganegaraan UNNES itu.

Dalam kegiatan bertajuk webinar tersebut, hadir sebagai narsumber Dosen Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia UNNES sekaligus Pimpinan Redaksi PortalSemarang.com. Surahmat SPd MHum.

Surahmat menjelaskan ada tiga tahapan dalam penulisan buku, yakni tahap prapenulisan, tahap penulisan, dan tahap penyuntingan.

“Tiap tahapannya memegang peranan penting yang secara bersama-sama mendukung proses penulisan dan penyusunan buku,” papar Surahmat.

Tak hanya itu, Ia juga membagikan tips khusus berupa formula dalam pengembangan tulisan yang bisa disingkat dengan kata DUPCAS.

“Jadi kalau ingin mengembangkan tulisan, teman-teman bisa menggunakan formula DUPCAS. Apa itu DUPCAS. DUPCAS merupakan singkatan dari kata definisi, urgensi dan signifikansi, paparan data, contoh, analisis pribadi, dan simpulan atau penekanan,” ungkapnya.

Bagi UNNES, pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sebagai bagian dari implementasi Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi merupakan suatu kewajiban. UNNES memiliki tanggung jawab besar sebagai center of excellent, pusat pengembangan ilmu dan pengetahuan yang bertugas untuk menyalurkan keilmuan dan kebermanfaatannya melalui pengajaran, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat.
