Tim Pengabdian FMIPA UNNES Berikan Pelatihan Inovasi Pembuatan Rengginang

Rengginang merupakan salah satu makanan berbasis kearifan lokal yang sangat menjanjikan dalam hal meningkatkan pendapatan masayarakat maupun ekonomi desa setempat. Hal ini karena rengginang merupakan makanan yang mudah dibuat dan disukai seluruh lapisan masyarakat dengan harga yang sangat terjangkau.

Namun ketidaktahuan perajin dalam manajemen usaha yang baik menjadikan kendala tersendiri bagi kemajuan usaha rumahan. Kendala lain dalam mengembangkan usaha rengginang di masyarakat adalah banyak masyarakat yang tidak memiliki keahlian dan keterampilan dalam pembuatan rengginang dan pemasarannya. Untuk itu sentra industri dalam suatu desa dapat menjawab tantangan pengembangan ekonomi desa.

Seperti Desa Larangan Kulon, Kecamatan Mojotengah, Kabupaten Wonosobo, Jawa tengah yang merupakan salah satu sentra industri rumahan rengginang yang hampir hilang. Banyak perajin yang tidak melanjutkan usahanya dikarenakan kalah bersaing dengan sentra lain ataupun tidak ada penerus usaha turun temurun ini. Selain itu, warga tidak memiliki keterampilan memproduksi makanan tradisional tersebut yang hingga kini masih digemari banyak orang.

Merespon permasalahan tersebut, tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Fakultas Matamatika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) tergerak untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan rengginang dengan inovasi pada warga Desa Larangan Kulon.

Pelatihan tersebut diselenggarakan di Gedung Serba Guna Desa Larangan Kulon dan diikuti oleh sekitar 40 peserta. Tim yang terdiri dari Dr Tri Sri Noor Asih MSi, Dr Dwi Yulianti MSi, Dr Masrukan, MSi dan Dr Triastuti Sulistyaningsih MSi mengajarkan tata cara pembuatan rengginang sejak dari tahap perendaman ketan hingga pengemasan rengginang matang yang sudah diberi rasa yang spesifik.

Inovasi yang ditawarkan pada pelatihan ini adalah ukuran rengginang yang dibuat kecil sehingga bisa habis sekali makan, rasa yang disukai anak-anak seperti keju dan balado, serta pengemasan rengginang yang memberikan nilai tambah ekonomi. Warga mengikuti kegiatan tersebut dengan antusias dan berkonsultasi tentang alternatif pemasaran seperti melalui toko online. Semoga pelatihan ini mampu menjadi pemicu awal bangkitnya kembali sentra usaha pengrajin rengginang di Desa Larangan Kulon di masa yang akan datang.
