Teliti Katak, Mahasiswa Unnes Studi ke Kanada

Misbahul Munir, mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) bertandang ke University of Calgary Canada. Dia berhasil memenangi seleksi penelitian dan berhak mendapat kesempatan belajar di universitas itu.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan Prof Dr Masrukhi MPd melepas keberangkatan Misbahul, Senin (4/6) di rektorat kampus Sekaran. โ€œKeberangkatan ini menambah daftar panjang prestasi mahasiswa Unnes di kancah internasional,โ€ papar Prof Masrukhi.

Misbahul memaparkan, dia melakukan penelitian mengenai katak di sekitar gunung Ungaran. โ€œSaya mengirimkan proposal semenjak 2011, namun baru mendapat respon bulan April kemarin. Saya memiliki banyak referensi di Unnes karena kampus ini berbasis konservasi,โ€ tandasnya.

Di Kanada, dia melanjutkan, dia akan belajar selama 2 minggu untuk mengikuti proposal, penelitian berbasis konservasi, termasuk implementasinya. โ€œTermasuk juga tentang pelatihan kepemimpinan dan berbagai kegiatan lain,โ€ kata Misbahul.

Beberapa tahun terakhir ini Misbahul meneliti tentang katak endemik, yakni sejenis katak pohon mutiara yang hanya ada di pulau Jawa. โ€œSejauh ini belum ada penelitian tentang katak jenis ini. Penelitian meliputi distribusi, habitat, dan perilaku katak pohon itu,โ€ pungkasnya.
