SMP PL Domenico Savio Juara Olimpiade IPS Tingkat Nasional 2016

Grace Eva Rosana dari SMP Pangudi Luhur Domenico Savio Semarang berhasil menjadi juara pertama Olimpiade IPS Tingkat Nasional tahun 2016 yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Ilmu Sosial (FIS) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) pada Sabtu (26/3).

Pada pelaksanaan yang ke delapan kalinya ini, Olimpiade IPS Tingkat Nasional diikuti oleh 202 siswa SMP/MTs se-Indonesia. Mereka berkompetisi memperebutkan piala bergilir Rektor Unnes serta hadiah total senilai puluhan juta rupiah.

Dekan FIS Unnes, Drs. Moh. Solehatul Mustofa, M.A. dalam sambutannya menyampaikan agar peserta olimpiade IPS berlomba secara sportif. “Juara adalah penting tetapi yang paling penting adalah semangat dan sportifitas dalam lomba,” katanya.

Menurut Ketua panitia olimpiade IPS, Andy Suryadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., tujuan dari kegiatan olimpiade ini adalah sebagai ajang persiapan bagi siswa dan sekolah menghadapi Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN), “kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan iklim akademik yang kompetitif dan sehat antar sekolah khususnya bidang IPS,” katanya.

Dalam kegiatan Olimpiade IPS Se Indonesia kali ini tampil sebagai juara umum adalah Grace Eva Rosana dari SMP PL Domenico Savio Semarang, Juara II diraih oleh Dhimas Rafif Fauzia Prastyanto dari SMP Islam Al Azhar 29 Semarang dan Juara III diraih oleh Fauzi Rahmadani dari SMP IT Nur Hidayah Surakarta.

Adapun untuk Juara harapan I diraih Naomi Agnes Clarissa, Theng dari SMP Kristen YSKI, Juara harapan II diraih oleh Faridatun Nisa dari MTs N Model Brebes. Juara Umum berhak memboyong Piala Bergilir Rektor Unnes.

Terpilihnya juara olimpiade IPS ini dilakukan melalui proses yang ketat. Peserta harus mengikuti lomba yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu tahapan tes tertulis ditahapan pertama dan kedua, serta ditahpan ketiga lomba cerdas-cermat dan juga dengan tahapan studi kasus. Pada tahap studi kasus, pada siswa memaparkan berbagai kasus dan melakukan tanya jawab dengan dewan juri.

Pada waktu yang bersamaan para guru pendamping dari masing-masing sekolah juga di fasilitasi untuk mengikuti kegiatan diskusi tentang pembelajaran IPS di tingkat SMP-MTs dengan pembicara Prof. Dr. Wasino, M.Hum.
