Sengit, Debat Kandidat Presiden-Wakil Presiden Mahasiswa

Dua pasang kandidat presiden dan wakil presiden Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa (BEM KM) Universitas Negeri Semarang beradu visi, Minggu (8/12) malam, di aula Fakultas Ilmu Sosial.

Debat yang dimulai dengan paparan visi-misi para calon itu berlangsung sengit. Nailul Mukorobin yang berpasangan dengan Muhammad Kridaanto memaparkan visi “Reaktualisasi peran mahasiswa berbasis konservasi (merakyat)”, sedangkan pasangan Prasetyo Listiaji-Syarif Hidayatulloh menyodorkan visi “Merangkai cinta dan senyum untuk Unnes dan Indonesia”.

Dalam debat yang dihadiri Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan Prof Dr Masrukhi itu, dihadirkan tiga panelis, Ubaidillah Kamal (Pembantu Dekan Fakultas Hukum), Sucipto Hadi Purnomo (dosen Sastra Jawa FBS), dan Taufik Kurniawan, lulusan Unnes.

Kepada audiens, pasangan Nailul berjanji akan berupaya memberikan advokasi secara adil dan tanpa memihak. Warna kebinekaan mereka janjikan dalam kepemimpinan ke depan, termasuk memberikan afirmasi bagi “minoritas” dalam menjalankan peribadatan di kampus. “Kami bahkan telah melakukan hal itu,” klaim Muhammad Kridaanto.

Saat menanggapi pertanyaan panelis, Prasetyo menyatakan setuju terhadap pemberian sanksi bagi mahasiswi yang hamil di luar nikah. “Kami setuju, mereka yang berpacaran di kampus ditindak,” kata calon wakil presiden yang berjanji akan seperti Jokowi, blusukan dari jurusan ke jurusan di seluruh Unnes.

Meski sempat “saling serang”, pada pengujung debat, kedua pasangan saling menyuguhkan ungkapan-ungkapan hangat untuk lawan masing-masing.

Staf ahli Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik Ali Formen menilai kedua pasangan belum kaya perspektif dalam memandang persoalan di dalam maupun di luar kampus. “Itu tampak sekali dari jawaban-jawaban mereka saat menanggapi pertanyaan panelis,” katanya seraya menyarankan para kandidat untuk lebih banyan lagi membaca.

Adapun Ketua Badan Pengembang Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi Sugiyanto memandang perlunya panitia melakukan jemput bola dengan mendatangi kelas-kelas. “Ini untuk mengatasi kemungkinan rendahnya partisipasi mahasiswa,” katanya seusai menyaksikan debat.

  3. Setahu saya hanya ada 3 presiden di negara ini, yaitu: Presiden RI (kepala negara), Presiden PKS (pimpinan partai), dan Presiden Mahasiswa (ketua BEMU). Mengapa mahasiswa (kita) memilih istilah ‘presiden?
