Seminar Geography Championship FIS

Visi Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) adalah menjadi universitas berwawasan konservasi dan bereputasi internasional. Salah satu implementasinya yakni menanam pohon bagi setiap mahasiswa untuk menjadi syarat wisuda.

Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial (FIS) Drs Moh Solehatul Mustofa MA menyampaikan itu saat membuka seminar nasional Geography Championship V di C7 FIS kampus Sekaran.

Seminar mengusung tema Pengembangan Kawasan Pisisir Berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis dan Penginderaan Jauh, bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan generasi muda yang peduli terhadap lingkungan. Kegiatan diikuti puluhan dari berbagai guru.

Dr Abdul Kohar Mudzakir SPi MS dari Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) menyampaikan materi tentang kelautan dan sumber daya yang ada di dalam laut diantaranya biota laut yang ada, hewan, tumbuhan, dan Sumber daya yang sebagian besar dimanfaatkan untuk nelayan di sekitarnya.

Pemateri kedua, Dr Tjaturahono Budi MSi (UNNES) yang juga Ketua Jurusan Geografi menyampaikan tentang Indonesia yang kedepannya akan menjadi poros maritim berdasarkan dengan pidato Jokowi pada awal periode, dan juga dikuatkan dengan sejarah-sejarah di Indonesia yang selalu mengutamakan jalur perdangangan melalui jalur air atau kelautan.

Dalam hal ini masyarakat Indonesia diminta untuk lebih memanfaatkan Sumber daya alam di Indonesia dan jangan sampai direbut oleh negara asing. Meskipun ada perbuatan yang mempunyai dampak negatif seperti Reklamasi tapi bisa lebih dilihat tujuan kegiatannya agar dapat bermanfaat dan dapat menjadikan kegiatan berkelanjutan.

Selain Seminar, digelar juga gelar karya alat – alat praktikum geografi dan produk mahasiswa. Sekitar 30 alat-Alat laboraturium Geografi dipamerkan guna menambah wawasan pengunjung. Selain itu, juga sebagai ajang promosi jurusan geografi sebagai fasilitator mahasiswa dalam hal alat – alat praktikum dan media pembelajaran .
