Self-Empowerment Salah Satu Strategi Kepemimpinan

Perempuan bangsa Indonesia dimana pun harus bisa mengambil aspirasi seperti semangat dari RA Kartini yang menulis buku Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang, yang memberikan semangat untuk maju dan memberi akses yang sangat luas.

Ketika perempuan sudah memiliki self empowerment (pemberdayaan diri) maka perempuan tersebut akan dapat mengambil keputusan-keputusan dalam memilih dan menjalankan peran.

Hal itu disampaikan Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerjasama (PR IV) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Fathur Rokhman saat memberi sambutan pada pembukaan Focus Group Discussion Gender Pengembangan Konservasi Kepemimpinan Perempuan dengan tema “Inspirasi Jiwa dan Semangat Kartini” (30/4) di Rektorat kampus Seakaran.

Wanita diberi hak yang sama dengan laki-laki dalam wilayah publik, yakni akses untuk mendapatkan pendidikan, akses untuk mendapatkan ilmu juga untuk menjadi pemimpin. Pemimpin itu tidak harus laki-laki, katanya. Kegiatan diikuti 121 orang khusus perempuan dari dosen, karyawan, dan mahasiswa.

Dengan belajar dan menulis yang sunguh-sungguh maka perempuan di negara Indonesia harus maju seperti perempuan di negara eropa.

Prof Dr Tri Marhaeni Pudji Astuti, guru besar antropologi, Jurusan Sosiologi & Antropologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Unnes sebagai nara sumber mengatakan Gender merupakan suatu sifat yang melekat pada laki-laki dan perempuan karena dikonstruksi secara sosial dan kultural. Jadi, bisa berubah dari waktu, tempat, dan budaya yang berbeda serta dapat dipertukarkan,” katanya.

Emansipasi adalah pilihan perempuan untuk berkiprah atau memilih peran tanpa dipaksa. Keputusan perempuan untuk beremansipasi tak akan terwujud tanpa empowerment dari perempuan itu sendiri.

Empowerment lebih berarti sebagai keberdayaan, sehingga maknanya adalah daya yang dimiliki, bukan karena pemberian atau indoktrinasi, melainkan sebuah proses untuk menjadi berdaya.

Namun, merubah pola pikir memang tidak mudah tapi kita yakin pelan-pelan pasti dapat berubah. Menggeser mindset tidak semudah membalikkan telapak tangan. Maka sosialisasi tentang gender harus terus diakukan karena orangnya berganti dan tempatnya juga berganti.
