Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) provides student accommodation through five university-managed dormitory units, supporting access to housing while fostering character development, independence, and academic achievement. Managed through the university’s Asset and Business Optimization Agency (BOAB), the dormitories serve as more than residential facilities, offering an environment that encourages leadership, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and the development of students’ soft skills.
UNNES operates five dormitory units: Asrama 1 Putri Kalisegoro, Asrama 2 PGSD Ngaliyan (Putra & Putri), Asrama 3 Putra Sekaran, Asrama 4 Internasional, and Asrama 5 Putri Patemon, with a total of 396 rooms. These facilities accommodate students housing options in locations associated with UNNES campuses.

The provision and management of student accommodation are supported by Rector’s Decree No. B/3677/UN37/HK.02/2024 on the Utilization of Student Dormitories at UNNES. Meanwhile, Rector’s Decree No. B/339/UN37/HK.02/2025 establishes accommodation tariffs for 2025. Under the applicable tariff arrangements, standard rates at selected dormitories, including Kalisegoro, Sekaran, and PGSD Ngaliyan, were IDR 3.9 million per person per year or IDR 2 million per person per semester. Actual rates vary depending on the dormitory and room type.

These regulated rates provide students with a university-managed accommodation option alongside private rental housing. The availability of semester-based and annual accommodation rates gives students an additional option when planning their living expenses.
Beyond housing provision, UNNES integrates residential life with student development programmes. Activities include leadership training, conservation-oriented practices, social engagement, and entrepreneurship initiatives designed to nurture responsibility and self-reliance. Through these programmes, the dormitories contribute to a supportive learning environment in which students can develop academically, socially, and personally.

By combining university-managed accommodation, officially regulated tariffs, and character-building programmes, UNNES strengthens its efforts to support students’ housing needs and overall well-being. This initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by supporting access to accommodation and a more inclusive campus environment.
