Rumah Amal Lazis Unnes Berikan Beasiswa Prestasi

Rumah Amal Lembaga Amil Zakat Infaq dan Shodaqoh (Lazis) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) menyerahkan Beasiswa Prestasi bagi 20 siswa SD, MI, dan MTs di sekitar kamus Unnes.

Penyerahan secara simbolis oleh Ketua Bidang Penghimpunan Dr Agus Yulianto MSi, Senin (24/11). Kegiatan dipusatkan di SDN Sekaran 2 Gunungpati.

Hadir pengurus Rumah Amal Lazis Unnes, guru, siswa, dan orang tua/wali siswa penerima beasiswa.

Dr Agus Yulianto menyampaikan, ke 20 siswa itu meliputi SDN Sekaran 2, MI Al Iman, MI Roudhotul Huda, dan MTs Al Asror masing masing lima siswa.

Program beasiswa prestasi ini, kata Dr Agus merupakan salah satu program bagi masyarakat sekitar Unnes khusus bagi siswa berprestasi, namun berasal dari keluarga kurang mampu.

Untuk itu, terang Dr Agus pemberian beasiswa ini jangan dilihat jumlah nominalnya (SD/MI Rp 100.000, MTs Rp 200.000 per bulan) namun sebagai wujud kepedulian warga Unnes melalui Rumah Amal Lazis Unnes untuk berbagi.

Dr Agus berharap mudah mudahan beasiswa ini dapat memotivasi para penerima beasiswa untuk terus belajar dan belajar agar kelak berhasil menjadi pemimpin bangsa Indonesia ini.

Dia mencontohkan, ada salah satu alumni Unnes namanya Raeni anak seorang pengayuh becak dari Kendal selama kuliah di Unnes tanpa membayar uang kuliah sepersen pun sampai lulus karena memperoleh beasiswa bidikmisi. Tahun 2014 ini ada 1.850 mahasiswa Unnes bebas tidak membayar uang kuliah, kata Dr Agus.

Dr Agus menambahkan, Rumah Amal Lazis Unnes juga sedang mempersiapkan program “Beasiswa Perintis” bekerjasama dengan Rumah Amal Salman ITB Bandung rencana mulai bulan Desember 2014. Yakni program untuk menjaring calon mahasiswa dhuafa yang memiliki potensi akademik tinggi, kemudian diberikan pembinaan dan bimbingan agar dapat lolos seleksi masuk PTN terkemuka di Indonesia.
