Rektor UNNES Secara Resmi Buka Tiga Program Bagi Mahasiswa Internasional

Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) secara resmi membuka tiga program internasional pada Selasa (5/9) di Ruang Rektor, Kampus UNNES Sekaran, Gunungpati. Turut hadir dalam acara pembukaan Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman, Kepala LP3 Dr Abdurrahman MPd, Kepala International Office UNNES Intan Permata Hapsari, MPd, Dekan FT Dr Nur Qudus, MT, beserta jajaran pejabat lainnya.

Dalam sambutannya, Prof Fathur menjelaskan bahwa UNNES adalah universitas berwawasan konservasi yang berusaha menjadi world class university. Oleh karena itu, UNNES selalu membuka kesempatan bagi mahasiswa asing untuk belajar mengenai budaya Indonesia ataupun berkuliah di UNNES. Adanya program-program internasional ini diharap dapat meningkatkan reputasi UNNES baik di skala regional ataupun internasional.

Prof Fathur menambahkan bahwa UNNES akan memberikan pelayanan terbaik pada mahasiswa asing yang belajar  atau mengikuti program di UNNES. Beliau berpesan agar mahasiswa tersebut menikmati setiap kegiatan yang mereka ikuti.

Selain itu, apabila ada kesempatan, ia menghimbau mahasiswa-mahasiswa tersebut untuk berkeliling melihat kehidupan di kota Semarang dan mengamati budaya Indonesia secara langsung. Jadi, ketika pulang ke negaranya, mereka bisa membawa pesan ke keluarga dan temannya bahwa Indonesia adalah negara yang damai dan indah.

Perlu diketahui, tiga program internasional yang diadakan oleh UNNES ini adalah Program Joint Summer Hibah PKKUI, Pertukaran Darmasiswa, dan International Teaching Internship.

Program Joint Summer Hibah PKKUI dan Pertukaran Darmasiswa berada di bawah naungan International Office UNNES. Peserta program tersebut akan mendapatkan kesempatan untuk belajar bersama mahasiswa UNNES dan belajar mengenai kebudayaan Indonesia.

Adapun peserta dari Joint Summer Hibah PKKUI antara lain Patrick Berndt Pedersen, Mads Mathias Kjeldsen, dan Mia Hausgaard Yde dari VIA Denmark. Sedangkan peserta program Darmasiswa 2017/2018 adalah In-in Pioquinto Jal (Filipina), Marta Beata Kupsch (Polandia), Marta Monika Wiegel, Arkadiusz Jan Jodlowksi, dan Barbora Skombarova (Slovakia).

Program International Teaching Internship adalah program praktek mengajar mahasiswa asing di sekolah mitra UNNES di bawah bimbingan LP3 UNNES. Untuk tahun ini, program dilakukan pada periode 6 September – 26 Oktober 2017 dan diikuti oleh 10 mahasiswa dari Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia ke 3 sekolah di Semarang.

Peserta dari program International Teaching Internship antara lain Mohammad Aidil Afifi bin Yusri, Nur Fatin Nadzirah binti Mohd Nasli, Nur Asilah binti Abdul Karim, dan Ain Atifah binti Hamdan di MAN 1 Semarang, Patrick Jelian Anak Lanchang Haslinda binti Basri, dan Wan Nor Aida binti Wan Berahim di SMKN 7 Semarang, serta Nahdatul Emma binti Ahmad Murad dan Norsyuhada binti Mohd Redzuan di PAUD Labschool UNNES.
