Rektor UNNES Pembicara Kunci di Universitas Malaysia Kelantan

Rektor UNNES, Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum., menjadi pembicara kunci pada sebuah seminar bergengsi di Malaysia yang bertajuk Minggu Fiesta Batik Malaysia (MFBM) 2017 pada hari Kamis (2/11). MFBM 2017 merupakan prakarsa dari Fakulti Teknologi Kreatif dan Warisan (FTKW) Universitas Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). Kegiatan ini merupakan usaha UMK untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran generasi muda akan warisan yang sangat berharga yaitu Batik. Pada abad 13, teknik batik dari Jawa telah merambah kerajaan Jambi dan melalui kerajaan Jambi tersebut, batik mulai terkenal di beberapa daerah di semenanjung Malaka. Batik kemudian menjadi bagian  budaya populer di Kelantan, Pahang dan Terengganu.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, Rektor UNNES membawakan presentasi berjudul ‘Efforts to Introduce Local Batik to International Communities’. Pada presentasi tersebut Rektor menjabarkan bagaimana Batik motif Semarangan terealisasi melalui usaha kolektif para perajin batik Semarang. Rektor juga menjelaskan bagaimana usaha UNNES sebagai universitas berwawasan konservasi dan bereputasi internasional dalam melakukan usaha pelestarian batik semarangan dan mengenalkan batik Semarangan kepada mahasiswa asing serta masyarakat internasional lainnya.

Pada kesempatan tersebut Rektor UNNES berkesempatan berdiskusi dengan Naib Canselor UMK, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mortaza Mohamed dan Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ibrahim Che Omar untuk membahas tindak lanjut kerja sama UNNES dan UMK yang melipiti: mobilitas mahasiswa, mobiltas peneliti dan dosen serta penelitian kolaboratif. UMK sangat mengapresiasi kehadiran Rektor UNNES yang telah membagikan ilmunya mengenai usaha konservasi Batik.

Dekan Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni UNNES, Prof. Dr. Agus Nuryatin, M.Hum, yang turut mendampingi Rektor pada kesempatan tersebut menyampaikan bahwa kesempatan ini merupakan kesempatan yang strategis untuk menunjukkan keseriusan UNNES dalam mengenalkan konservasi budaya kepada masyarakat internasional. Indonesia harus menjadi contoh bagi Malaysia dalam usaha melestarikan dan menyebarluaskan batik. Pendapat tersebut juga disepakati oleh ahli batik UNNES, Dr. Syakir, M.Sn. Batik dapat menjadi lebih berjaya di kancah internasional dengan kolaborasi antar universitas internasional utamanya di regional ASEAN.
