Rektor UNNES; Pelaporan Kepolisian Bukan Pembungkaman Demokrasi

Pelaporan kepolisian oleh Biro Umum Hukum dan Kepegawaian (BUHK) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) terkait dugaan pelanggaran pidana (KUHP) pada oknum mahasiswa berinisial JBH dan HAM, bukan karena pembungkaman demokrasi, larangan menyampaikan pendapat atau kritik, melainkan karena dugaan pelanggaran Hukum UU ITE. Sebab, keduanya telah mengunggah sebuah dokumen tidak patut yang ditujukan pada Menristekdikti saat acara di UNNES.

“Tentu saja, sebelumnya mahasiwa terlapor sudah diingatkan oleh Dekan Fakultas Hukum dan Rektor pada unggahan viral-viral lain”, kata Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum menanggapi kesimpangsiuran berita yang selama ini beredar dikalangan kampus UNNES, Rabu (2/8).

Menurut Prof Fathur, UNNES adalah lembaga besar yang tata kelolanya ada dalam integritas dengan KPK, Irjen dan BPK. Sehingga kebijakan UNNES tentu didasarkan atas integritas pimpinan pada aturan dan hukum. Tidak ada satupun kebijakan yang dirancang untuk merugikan mahasiswa, dosen dan tenaga pendidik. Oleh sebab itu UNNES sangat menyesalkan telah diunggahnya dokumen tersebut oleh mahasiswa, sehingga diduga melakukan pencemaran nama baik lembaga sesuai dengan UU ITE.

“Sebagai institusi negara maka UNNES berkewajiban meminta pada pihak yang memiliki kewenangan negara untuk melakukan penyelidikan atas dugaan tersebut, yakni kepolisian,” tandasnya.

Prof Fathur juga menegaskan, Rektor UNNES selalu siap membuka dialog dan menerima kritik, apalagi kritik yang didasarkan atas data empirik dan analisis yang sahih.

“Saya selalu mengatakan pada mahasiswa dan dosen. Mari manfaatkan kebebasan akademik di UNNES. Bila kritik benar dan menjadi kebijakan baru UNNES maka biaya pengumpulan data dan analisis akan kami ganti,” jelasnya.
