Rektor Unnes Buka Kejuaraan Wushu Sanda Nasional Terbuka 2016

Kemenangan mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Yusuf Widiyanto dalam Kejuaraan Dunia Wushu 2015 ini makin melengkapi prestasi Unnes yang didapat sebelumnya. Di berbagai event nasional maupun internasional, Unnes sebagai universitas berwawasan konservasi bereputasi internasional ini memang selalu menempatkan atletnya pada tangga juara.

Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum mengungkapkan hal itu saat membuka Kejuaraan Wushu Sanda Nasional Terbuka Piala Rektor Unnes 2016, di Auditorium Unnes Kampus Sekara, Senin (25/4).

Karena itu, Unnes akan terus berusaha agar kepentingan mahasiswa dalam pendidikan dan prestasi olahraga bisa berjalan seimbang. ”Ini sudah menjadi komitmen Unnes untuk terus mendorong mahasiswa agar selalu berprestasi dan berkarakter,” papar Prof Fathur.

Menurut Ketua Panitia Dr Henny Setyawati, Kejuaraan yang dilangsungkan dalam rangkaian Dies Natalis Unneske 51 ini akan diikuti 225 atlit, 165 offisial dari 61 tim yang berasal dari 12 Provinsi se Indonesia.

“Kejuaraan ini juga dalam rangka ‘wushu goes to campus’ yang juga kerja sama antara Pengprov Whusu Jateng dengan Unnes,” katanya.

Hadir dalam pembukaan kejuaraan ini, diantaranya Ketua Umum Koni Jateng Hartono, Wakil Ketua Umum III Pengurus Besar Wushu Indonesia Ngatini SH MH, Ketua Harian Pengprov Wushu Indonesia Jateng Drs Sudarson, Wakil Rektor, Dekan, dan beberapa pejabat di lingkungan Unnes.
