Ramadan Bulan Ilmu, Rektor UNNES Luncurkan Dua Buku

Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum meluncurkan dua buku sekaligus pada awal Ramadan 1443 H.

Kedua buku tersebut adalah Pendidikan untuk Peradaban dan Ujaran Kebencian: Kajian Pragmatik, Linguistik Forensik, dan Analisis Wacana. Acara peluncuran diselenggarakan secara sederhana bersama sejumlah awak media, Kamis (7/4).

Buku Pendidikan untuk Peradaban berisi pemikiran-pemikiran Prof Fathur tentang pendidikan di Tanah Air. Sebagai akademisi, ia merespons sekaligus menawarkan pandangan terhadap berbagai persoalan pendidikan di Indonesia.

Topik pembahasannya pun cukup luas, terbentang mulai pendidikan tinggi, hubungan pendidikan dengan sumber daya manusia, sampai pendidikan dan bahasa.

“Menulis tentang dinamika pendidikan di Tanah Air adalah salah satu cara menemukan makna dalam berbagai kebijakan, gejala, dan fenomena pendidikan,” katanya.

Sementara itu, buku Ujaran Kebencian: Kajian Pragmatik, Linguistik Forensik, dan Analisis Wacana merupakan buku kepakaran yang ditulis dalam kapasitasnya sebagai akademisi bidang bahasa.

Menurutnya, ujaran kebencian sudah menjadi persoalan krusial karena berdampak destruktif bagi masyarakat dan bangsa. Selain mengakibarkan kerusakan psikologis pada korbannya, ujaran kebencian juga terbukti merongrong kesatuan bangsa.

Ia melihat bahwa kemajuan teknologi informasi seperti media sosial belum diiringi kearifan dan literasi oleh Sebagian penggunanya. Kondisi membuat pengguna media sosial rentan melakukan ujaran kebencian, baik sengaja maupun tidak.

“Melalui buku ini saya menawarkan analisis dan rekomendasi supaya kita tidak terjebak pada persoalan ujaran kebencian. Kita belajar dari kasus hate speech di masa lalu untuk mengedukasi masyarakat sehingga lebih bijak mengekspresikan pendapat di muka umum,” kata professor sosiolinguistik ini.

Prof Fathur menaambahkan, pihaknya sengaja meluncurkan kedua bukunya pada awal Ramadan sebagai peneguhan bahwa Ramadan adalah bulan ilmu.

Makna Ramadan sebagai bulan ilmu, menurutnya, tersirat dari peristiwa diturunkannya Alquran pertama kali pada bulan Ramadan. Perintah pertama yang disampaikan kepada Rasulullah adalah membaca.

“Ibadah kita di bulan Ramadan, selain ibadah ritual juga ibadah sosial. Menulis, membaca, dan memperdalam ilmu pengetahuan adalah salah satu bentuk ibadah sosial tersebut,” katanya.

Melalui dua buku tersebut ia juga ingin mendorong mahasiswa dan dosen UNNES agar terus berkarya. “Karya keilmuan akan membawa banyak kebaikan, bukan hanya bagi kita, tapi juga masyarakat. Semangat seperti ini harus dijaga sesuai dengan spirit UNNES sebagai Rumah Ilmu Pengembang Peradaban”, katanya.
