Profesor dan Doktor Unnes Diharap Ikut Selesaikan Masalah Pendidikan

Koordinator Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Jawa Tengah, Untung Budiarso, mengapresiasi Program Profesor dan Doktor Go to School Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) yang sedang berlangsung. Menurut dia, banyak manfaat yang didapat sekolah dari program ini.

“Apa yang dilakukan Unnes sudah seyogianya ditiru oleh peguruan tinggi lainnya. Di banyak kesempatan di tempat lain, saya sering menyebut langkah Unnes ini harus juga dilaksanakan sebagai upaya nyata pengabdian lembaga perguruan tinggi kepada masyarakat,” ujar Untung ketika melakukan audiensi dengan Unnes, Senin (28/4), di Rektorat Kampus Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang.

Melalui program ini, menurutnya, Unnes sebagai lembaga sangat mungkin ikut menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan pendidikan tanpa harus lewat pengadilan. Untung mencontohkan, jika ada seorang guru memberikan sanksi kepada muridnya, sama sekali tak ada maksud lain selain mendidik.

“Namun, yang terjadi akhir-akhir ini bila ada masalah sedikit saja yang dilakukan seorang guru terhadap muridnya, misalnya dijewer, tak jarang diartikan sebagai tindak penganiayaan,” ujar dia.

“Ujung-ujungnya persoalan dibawa ke ranah hukum sampai kepolisian dan bahkan hingga pengadilan,” kata Untung seraya berharap jika ada persoalan-persoalan seperti itu, sebaiknya Unnes ikut menjembatani persoalan guru dan murid yang ditangani kepolisian.

Mengawal Kebijakan

Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum, menjelaskan program Profesor dan Doktor Go to School ini dilaksanakan untuk mengawal kebijakan pemerintah dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum 2013. “Ini bagian dari upaya Unnes dan pemangku kepentingan bidang pendidikan di daerah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan,” kata Prof Fathur didampingi staf ahli rektor, staf bidang kerja sama, dan dosen Fakultas Hukum.

Menurutnya, program yang menjangkau SD, SMP, dan SMA ini melibatkan 45 profesor Unnes dari berbagai latar belakang keilmuan. Mereka “turun gunung” ke sekolah-sekolah untuk mendampingi siswa dan guru mengimplemntasikan Kurikulum 2013. Selain memberikan pendampingan bagi kepala sekolah dan guru, para profesor juga mengajar siswa sesuai bidang keilmuannya.

Prof Fathur juga mengatakan, jika masyarakat merasa program ini bermakna bagi peningkatan kualitas pendidikan, kami akan senang hati bekerja sama. “Salah satu prinsip kerja kami adalah taat azas. Kami akan patuh regulasi-regulasi yang ada. Kerja sama dengan IPW dijalin agar kami tetap menjaga prinsip tersebut,” katanya.
