Prof Juhadi Ciptakan Alat Peringatan Dini Longsor

Ancaman tanah longsor mengintai masyarakat di Jawa Tengah, khususnya daerah lereng. Bencana tanah longsor sering berakibat fatal karena ketiadaan sistem peringatan dini yang andal.

Menanggapi tantangan ini, ahli geografi kebencanaan UNNES Prof. Dr. Drs. Juhadi, M.Si., merancang sebuah inovasi bernama  Land Instability Detection Unit atau disingkat Lindu.

Dilandasi rasa keprihatinan terhadap kondisi masyarakat, ia mengembangkan sistem peringatan dini longsor berbasis Android. Platform digital ini memungkinkan deteksi, pemantauan, dan peringatan bagi potensi pergerakan tanah di suatu kawasan.

Salah satu daerah yang diriset adalah daerah Trangkil, Kecamatan Sukorejo, Kota Semarang yang tanahnya dikenal kurang stabil.

LINDU hadir dengan antarmuka sederhana namun canggih, memungkinkan warga dan otoritas lokal mendapat sinyal dini jika terjadi ketidakstabilan tanah. Melalui notifikasi instan di smartphone, sistem ini membantu Masyarakat dengan peringatan dini.

Kehadiran LINDU bukan semata-mata soal teknologi, tapi kepedulian terhadap kemanusiaan. Di lereng bukit yang rawan longsor,  LINDU dapat menjadi alat bantu bagi masyarakat. Alat ini bekerja dengan memberikan peringatan sehingga memberi waktu bagi warga untuk evakuasi, melakukan mitigasi darurat, dan mengurangi risiko kecelakaan yang tak diinginkan.

Inovasi yang dilahirkan Prof. Juhadi berangkat dari penelitian yang panjang. Ia  menunjukkan konsistensi riset tentang pencegahan bencana lewat penelitian geografi aplikatif.

Inovasi LINDU sejalan dengan semangat kerja akademis Prof. Juhadi bahwa riset tidak boleh berhenti di makalah. Ia terus mendorong keberlanjutan program: sistem selalu di-update sesuai kondisi lokal, mudah dioperasikan walau oleh petugas desa, dan diintegrasikan dengan pelatihan mitigasi bencana untuk masyarakat.

Prof Juhadi juga giat melakukan penelitian terkait pendidikan bencana di berbagai daerah.

Kehadiran alat seperti LINDU menandai keberhasilan ilmu pengetahuan agar lebih peduli terhadap kehidupan. Prof. Juhadi memberikan contoh nyata bagaimana ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi negara dapat menyentuh akar komunitas, menjaga nyawa sekaligus memperkuat ketangguhan bersama.
